The Spanish Army is a land force with formidable means, especially if we take into account its armored forces.

In 2024, the Army will contribute a considerable force to NATO's Very High Readiness Tactical Group (VJTF). This time the contribution to that force will come from the Brigade "Guzmán el Bueno" X, based in Cerro Muriano (Córdoba), which will form an Armored/Mechanized Tactical Group, a Field Artillery Battery, an Antiaircraft Artillery Battery (equipped with missiles short-range Mistral) and a Company of Sappers. In addition to the contribution of the aforementioned Brigade, the Spanish contingent of the VJTF 24 will be reinforced by other units of the Land Force of the Army.

The Spanish Army has published a video today showing the vehicles of the Spanish contingent of VJTF 24, after obtaining the certification for the unit:

The images have been recorded at the Cerro Muriano Base. We can see in the background on the right the garages of the Armored Regiment "Córdoba" nº10 (RAC 10). On the esplanade we can see 29 Leopardo 2E battle tanks, 13 ASCOD Pizarro infantry combat vehicles, 9 VEC M-1 cavalry scout vehicles, 18 M-113 in different versions (personnel transport, mortar carrier and sappers), an M-577 armored command vehicle, six M-548 ammunition vehicles and other vehicles.

Another aerial image of the formation. Regarding the previous list, it should be noted that the M-113 includes at least 7 mortar carriers.

The M-577 armored command vehicle, in the center and in the front row. It is one of the many variants of the M-113.

A spectacular view of the Leopard 2E. This tank is the Spanish version of the Leopard 2A6, equipped with a 120mm Rheinmetall L/55 gun.
