Of the beautiful landscapes of the United Kingdom, some of the most famous are in its northern half, in Scotland, especially in its Highlands.

With the name of Highlands (Hielands, in Scottish; and A' Ghàidhealtachd, in Scottish Gaelic) is known the broad mountainous region that dominates the north and west of Scotland, as opposed to the Lowlands (Lowlands), which is the eastern and southern half. Despite its rugged geography, the highest elevation in the Highlands, Ben Nevis Mountain, only reaches 1,344 metres, also the highest mountain in the United Kingdom.

A few months ago, Cinematic Lab posted an awesome video that roams the Earths High from the air in 5 minutes, showing its coasts and also its interior:

You can see here some captures of the video. First of all, let me tell you that in the image that heads this entry we can see the Neist Point lighthouse, on the Isle of Skye, in the Inner Hebrides archipelago.

In this other image we see the cliffs of Kilt Rock and the Mealt Falls, on the Trotternish peninsula, in the northeast of the Isle of Skye. The waterfall has a height of 55 meters and its water comes from Lake Mealt, located next to the coast.

These peaks are known as The Old Man of Storr and are also found on the Trotternish peninsula on Skye.

A lovely view of Eilean Donan Castle, situated on the shores of the famous Loch Ness. The castle was built in the 13th century and was destroyed during the Jacobite Rebellion of 1719, being rebuilt and restored between 1913 and 1932.

McCaig's Tower, in the town of Oban. It is a circumference of 200 meters built between 1897 and 1902 by the banker and philanthropist John Stuart McCaig, an admirer of Roman culture, hence its appearance. His plan was to make a museum inside, but finally only the walls were built, due to the death of McCaig, who was the financier and also the architect of this monument.
