An impressive night march of Leopard 2 main battle tanks of the German Army
Tanks have been an important weapon on the battlefield and have also been a significant deterrent for many years..
In addition to this, tanks also have a significant psychological function. The mere sound of hearing the roar of heavy armoured vehicles advancing towards your position must have a terrifying effect on any soldier. If this happens at night, the effects are amplified.
We can get an idea of this from these two videos published by Klaus Schröder in which we see 12 Leopard 2 tanks (specifically Leopard 2A7s, if I'm not mistaken) and a Bergepanzer 2 recovery vehicle of the German Army making a night march by road from the Army Combat Training Center in Gardelegen, Saxony-Anhalt, to the railway loading dock at the Zielitz potash mine:
