How to distinguish whether someone wants peace in Ukraine or intends to favor Russia

For many years now, there has been a false pacifism that only aims to criminalize an attacked country and favor the aggressor.

Let us remember, in case anyone has forgotten, that that is what the communist parties did in 1939 after the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. There were no pacifist demonstrations in the invading countries, since they were totalitarian regimes and speaking out against political power in them led to imprisonment and even death. However, the communists directed all their "pacifist" propaganda towards demonizing France and the United Kingdom for supporting Poland. The discourse of these communist parties changed radically when the USSR was invaded by Germany in June 1941.

Today, as if repeating that alliance between Nazis and Communists, the extreme right and especially the extreme left have reissued this false pacifism against Ukraine. It is easy to unmask those who claim to want "peace" when talking about this invasion but in reality they intend to favor the invaders:

• They do not condemn the invasion nor blame the invaders for the war, but rather the invaded and the countries that provide them with economic and military aid to defend themselves against that invasion.
• They do not criticize Putin, but demonize Zelensky, just as the Communists, Nazis and their sympathizers demonized Churchill in 1940 for not surrendering to Nazi Germany.
• They are not demanding Russian withdrawal from Ukraine, but rather that Ukraine should yield to the invaders under the pretext of "peace". Thus, their idea of ​​"peace" is that an illegal and unprovoked invasion will be profitable for the invader.
• They are not criticising Russia for continuing this war, but Ukraine and the countries that support it, as if they were to blame for the fact that the Russian army has been murdering the Ukrainian civilian population for more than two and a half years.
• Russian war crimes, which are already numerous, are never denounced. y them, but instead they try to cover them up, question all information that speaks about them or simply deny them.
• They want fear of the invader to take the place of solidarity with the invaded, telling us that either Ukraine gives in and the Western countries stop helping the Ukrainians, or Russia will bring a thousand misfortunes upon us: from thousands of deaths in winter due to the cold to a third world war. Following this logic, if tomorrow Russia were to invade Poland, we would have to give up defending it with the same excuses.
• They want us to leave NATO and break our ties with our allies, precisely now that this defensive shield of Western democracies is making more sense than ever since the end of the first Cold War. Precisely for this reason, Finland and Sweden have asked to join the Alliance, after being threatened by Putin.

Those who do all this do not want peace in Ukraine: they are just favouring the Russian invaders. They want Putin to get his way and for Ukraine to be completely dismembered or subjected to the whims of the Russian dictator. They want Russia to profit from invading a neighbouring country and massacring its civilian population. And what is even worse, they want Russia to be in a position to repeat this invasion and this massacre with any of the NATO allied countries that share borders with this terrorist state.

If these false pacifists want peace, they should go and demonstrate in front of the embassies and consulates of Russia, which is the country that has caused the greatest threat to peace in Europe since the end of the Second World War. If they don't do it, it's because they are not for peace, but for the aggressors. Theirs is not pacifism: it is a cynical farce.
