The Spanish National Police Corps (CNP) is sending all types of vehicles belonging to different units to Valencia.
One of the rarest vehicles to see is the Iveco Trakker 410 anti-riot truck of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP). This vehicle was bought in December 2014, a month after the first illegal referendum called by the Catalan separatists, for an amount of 348,480 euros. The truck has a tank with a capacity for 7,000 liters of water and another tank for 60 liters of dye. On top of it, it has a water cannon to break up especially violent demonstrations.
At the time, its purchase was justified in order to "protect the free exercise of rights and liberties, and guarantee citizen security." The truck was shown to the public for the first time on October 12, 2015, during the National Holiday parade in Madrid. The truck was designated J-100 and was located at the headquarters of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) in Moratalaz, Madrid.
This truck has never been used against violent demonstrations, despite several occasions when its intervention would have been necessary. In 2019 it was sent to Catalonia, during the serious riots caused by the separatists in Barcelona, but Pedro Sánchez's government did not dare to use it and the truck was returned to Madrid without having been put into action.
This truck was not used until March 2020, but on a very different mission from the one that motivated its acquisition a few years earlier: the National Police used it to spray the streets with a disinfectant solution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nozzles were fitted to the truck to convert the disinfectant liquid into nanometric particles. On March 28 of that year, the National Police published this video showing the first mission of the UIP's Trakker 410:

Today the National Police has shown the new utility of this truck, which has been sent to Valencia to help in the clean-up tasks of the catastrophe caused by the cold snap of October 29. This video shows the UIP Trakker 410 cleaning the streets of the town of Sedaví, in the company of students from the National Police School:
