He said this in a joint interview with a senator from the Popular Party

A socialist senator, on the programs of the PP and the PSOE: “I believe that 80% coincide”

I have been talking for a long time about the ideological scam that the Popular Party (PP) has been playing on its voters for years.

The useless vote for the Popular Party and Feijóo's political irrelevance in Europe
The infamous relationship of PSOE and PP with Bildu while they treat Vox as a stinker

Basically, the PP is asking for centre-right votes in order to then implement progressive and social-democratic policies that are barely distinguishable from the policies of the Socialist Party (PSOE). After all, the PP has adopted a large part of the socialist ideological dogmas, even on issues such as abortion, gender ideology, radical ecological policies, etc. Calling the PP a "right-wing" or "conservative" party, as many media outlets do, is misleading people.

Yesterday, the newspaper El Mundo brought together two senators, one from the PSOE, Juan Antonio Sagredo - representative for Valencia and mayor of Paterna -, and one from the PP, Gerardo Camps, also representative for Valencia. It is very revealing to read what they said: "We are not naive, we know that each one is from a party. But if we put together a program from the PP and another from the PSOE, I believe that 80% coincide. There is a 20% that does not, but if we were able to fulfill that 80%..." These are the words of the socialist senator.

Openly displaying the harmony between the two parties (which have been allies in Brussels for years), in the following paragraph the PP senator states: "it is good that we recover the two-party system, which is quite maligned." This senator adds: "I have been a member of the PP for 40 years."

This explains why a party like Vox bothers both the PSOE and the PP. Regardless of what each person thinks about the party led by Santiago Abascal, one of the differences it brings is to address debates that the PP and the PSOE had closed in false, due to the submission of the PP to the ideological dogmas of the left. Center-right voters no longer have the need to vote with their nose held for a "lesser evil" that increasingly resembles the "greater evil" . In fact, they are already 80% similar, if we trust what is said in that interview.
