We have already seen other impressive places in the Sierra de Gádor, in the province of Almería, but there is still more.
Yesterday, my favourite YouTube channel, Aventuras Entresierras (which I highly recommend you subscribe to), published an interesting video of an exploration in this mountainous place in the Spanish region of Andalusia. The route begins in Laujar de Andarax (Almería), next to Sierra Nevada, where the adventurers, led as always by the intrepid and four-legged Alfred, enter the ruins of the Convent of San Juan Bailón, built in the 17th century. After the confiscations of the 19th century, it passed into the hands of a private individual, finally being abandoned in the 20th century.
The route continues through some spectacular gypsum mines known as Las Yeseras, also located in the municipality of Laujar de Andarax and now abandoned. Finally, the adventurers look for a shelter to spend the night from some sites that show the spectacular views of the Sierra de Gádor. I leave you with the video, which the friends of Aventuras Entresierras have been kind enough to dedicate to my dear brothers (the video is in Spanish, you can activate automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):
You can see here some screenshots of this interesting video. Here we can see the ruins of the Convent of San Pascual Bailón, in Laujar de Andarax. In the video you can see the ruins inside in more detail.
Explorers find this gem among the ruins. I think it's an old Dodge Dart, but if any reader can provide more details in the comments, I'd appreciate it. It's a shame to see this car in this state of abandonment (as is the convent).
The old gypsum mines of Laujar. Here we see the intrepid Alfred investigating the small lake that has formed inside the caves.
Finally, a beautiful view of the Sierra de Gádor, with mountains stretching to the horizon.
