Russia is promoting terrorist acts with methods that should cause alarm in all democratic countries.
The Russians blackmailed the girl by threatening to leak compromising photos.
This Friday, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the detention of a 14-year-old girl in Ternopil, western Ukraine. The SBU said that according to the investigation, Russian services targeted the girl when she was looking for quick money on Telegram channels. They hacked her phone and blackmailed the girl, threatening to leak compromising photos of her online. The Ukrainian intelligence service's statement added the following:
As a result, the schoolgirl agreed to work for the enemy and, following the occupiers' instructions, made an improvised explosive device (IED). She then hid it in a backpack and secretly left it under a car parked next to the police administration building.
At that moment, Russian intelligence agents planned to remotely detonate the IED to kill their agent and as many citizens as possible who passed by.
Law enforcement officers foiled the enemy's plans: they quickly discovered and neutralized the explosives, documented the subversive activities of the Russian Federation, and arrested the perpetrator.
The SBU has stated that the girl faces up to ten years in prison on one count of attempted terrorist act. "An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime. SBU officers in the Ternopil region, together with the National Police, carried out comprehensive measures under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office." Russia has already used minors in terrorist acts: one of them has died
This is not the first time that Russia has recruited minors to commit terrorist acts in Ukraine. On March 12, the SBU announced that Russia used two minors in a terrorist plot in Ivano-Frankivsk, also in western Ukraine, which had been carried out the day before. Just as they intended to do with the girl in Ternopil, Russian services remotely detonated an explosive to eliminate the minors they had recruited, two local teenagers aged 15 and 17. Both were recruited through Telegram channels as they were looking for easy money. "As a result of the incident, the 17-year-old attacker died at the scene, and his 15-year-old accomplice was hospitalized with serious injuries", the SBU said.
The two minors attended schools in Ivano-Frankivsk and were friends. In this case, they were recruited in exchange for a promise of money from the invaders. Following instructions from the Russian services, these minors made a homemade explosive and two IEDs camouflaged in thermoses in a rented apartment with money provided by their Russian contact, in a building near the city's train station. The SBU statement added:
They equipped both explosives with remote-controlled detonators and additional impact elements in the form of metal nuts.
Following this, following the Russian client's instructions, the attackers placed both explosive devices in combat mode.
At around 6:30 p.m. on March 11, they were heading to a designated location to plant one of the explosive devices.
Along the way, the Russian intelligence service, which was remotely tracking their movements via GPS, activated the IED in their package.
In addition to the minors, two other bystanders were injured by the blast wave.
At the same time, the occupants remotely detonated a second explosive device that was located in the rented apartment.
In this case, the injured 15-year-old faces a possible life sentence. Furthermore, the SBU is investigating the involvement of two 15-year-old girls in the incident, noting that "they were in the same company as the suspects during the preparations for the terrorist attack." Here are some of the photos released by the SBU regarding this case:
SBU warns about new tactics of Russian services
In its statement on the events in Ivano-Frankivsk, the SBU warned about the tactics Russian services are using:
The SBU warns Ukrainians again: Russian special services have begun using new tactics. They undermine their agents, use them "in the dark," and then dispose of them as unnecessary witnesses.
If you or your friends are offered to "just take a package" to the CCC, police station, or other administrative building, know that they want to kill you.

The security service guarantees complete confidentiality and each message will be processed with care.
A threat that also affects Western countries
It should be noted that this threat does not only affect Ukraine. Russia is promoting terrorist acts in other European countries and could use the same recruitment methods as in Ukraine. The difference is that in Western countries, security and intelligence services have not issued any alerts to warn the population about these practices, information that could serve to prevent Russian services from carrying out these types of attacks.
