After a savage Russian attack that killed 34 people in Sumy, including two children, Trump once again gives in to Moscow.
Trump apologizes to Russia for the massacre of civilians: “I was told they made a mistake”
As other Western leaders issued harsh messages against Russia for the savage attack, which once again targeted unarmed civilians, Trump made a tepid statement aboard Air Force One, the US presidential plane, when asked by a reporter about the attack: "I think it was terrible, and I was told they made a mistake. But I think it's a horrible thing. I think the whole war is a horrible thing." Here's the video:
‼️Reporter: Do you have a reaction to Russia's Palm Sunday attack on Ukraine?

Trump's words are a way of excusing Russia for an attack on civilians that is not an isolated incident. The Kremlin has been systematically and deliberately launching attacks against civilians since this invasion began. There have already been hundreds of attacks like these: they are not a mistake, they are a strategy of terror.
Trump blames Zelensky for the Russian invasion: “There were so many ways to stop it from starting”
It is disappointing to see the president of the United States, the largest democracy in the West, issue such a lukewarm response to a war crime, avoiding condemning Russia for it and blaming it on the "war", a pacifist discourse that forgets that this war was started by Russia against an independent country, violating international law. It is worth remembering because this Monday, Trump blamed the president of Ukraine for this war in a message posted on Truth Social:
The War between Russia and Ukraine is Biden’s war, not mine. I just got here, and for four years during my term, had no problem in preventing it from happening. President Putin, and everyone else, respected your President! I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WAR, BUT AM WORKING DILIGENTLY TO GET THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO STOP. If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED, and it was, in so many ways, that horrible War would never have happened. President Zelenskyy and Crooked Joe Biden did an absolutely horrible job in allowing this travesty to begin. There were so many ways of preventing it from ever starting. But that is the past. Now we have to get it to STOP, AND FAST. SO SAD!
Trump is not favoring peace: he is favoring Russia
Once again, 24 hours after the Sumy massacre, Trump avoids criticizing Putin and attacks Zelensky, the president of the invaded country. Furthermore, it should be noted that the current US president is not doing any favors for peace. What Trump is doing is favoring Russia, subscribing to the lies of Russian propaganda (this is the second time Trump has blamed Ukraine for this invasion: he already did so two months ago) and giving Putin hope that this invasion will be beneficial to him, which could encourage the Russian dictator to attack other countries. Trump isn't making peace: he's helping Russia.
The Kremlin justifies the attack on Sumy with a new lie
Hours after the US president made his statements apologizing to Russia for the Sumy massacre, the Kremlin has not hesitated to ridicule Trump by issuing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense justifying the attack, stating that Russia launched two Iskander missiles against "a meeting of the general staff" of the Ukrainian Army, adding: "more than sixty servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed".
The Kremlin's claim is yet another lie that provides no evidence for its version of events, in contrast to the graphic evidence shown yesterday by Ukraine, showing an attack in the street against civilian targets. Since the beginning of the war, Putin's dictatorship has been using lies as a tool to cover up its crimes against the Ukrainian people. The novelty that Trump has brought to this war is to see the US president acting as if he were a Russian propagandist.
+ UPDATED 8:22 PM: If we didn't have enough, today Trump said from the White House about Zelensky: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles." Here's the video:
Trump has fully turned on Zelenskyy: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles." pic.twitter.com/1hBWeyu2hg

That is to say, Trump accuses Zelensky of starting the war in Ukraine, not Putin, who is the invader and the one who started this war. Trump is behaving like a wretch, parroting Moscow's slogans. How shameful to see a US president fall so low.
