Currently, The United States has 273 diplomatic missions in 175 countries. Security for U.S. embassies and consulates is assigned to the Marine Corps (USMC), but in the event of a breach, the U.S. can call upon first-tier special forces (DEVGRU and Delta) or second-tier special forces (Navy SEALs and Special Forces) to resolve a potential hostage situation or a violent siege of those buildings.

This Sunday, the USMC released a video and a series of photos of a joint exercise between the U.S. Marine Corps' (USMC) Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) and the U.S. Army's 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at a simulated embassy in Deuce Village, Yuma, Arizona, as part of the 2-25 Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course. The exercise took place on April 10th and used USMC Bell UH-1Y Venom helicopters. You can watch the spectacular video of the exercise here:

In the video, we see Special Forces and MAWTS-1 operators in a variety of uniforms, while outside, MAWTS-1 members in MARPAT uniforms act as a hostile force outside the mock embassy. You can see a series of photos from this exercise here (click on each image for a larger view).
