Eyal Golan, 'Am Yisrael Chai': A song of a people for whom life is a victory

I am writing this article as a missile attack launched by Iran hits the city of Tel Aviv, Israel.

The ancient people of Israel have endured all kinds of hardships throughout their history. The most terrible of all was the Holocaust, the planned genocide in which 6 million Jews were murdered by Adolf Hitler's dictatorship. Today, the Islamist dictatorship of Iran is attempting to complete that genocide, with the stated goal of wiping out the State of Israel and its inhabitants.

There is a Hebrew expression that expresses the attitude of Israeli citizens well: "Am Israel Chai", the People of Israel live. This people love life as much as the Nazis and Islamist fanatics love death. For the people of Israel, living is already a victory, and those of us who love life and freedom cannot help but feel sympathy for these people, whether we are Jewish or not, because Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and the only place in the region where Jews, Christians, Druze, and Muslims enjoy true freedom.

Just a few days ago, I was listening in the car to a beautiful Israeli song by Eyal Golan, "Am Yisrael Chai" (The People of Israel Lives). I'm posting it here because it seems very appropriate for today and as a sign of friendship for this great people:
