The aerial display of a Spanish Eurofighter that caught the attention of several British channels

This week, from Friday, July 18th to Sunday, July 20th, another edition of The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) was held.

This airshow is held annually at RAF Fairford in England and is the largest event of its kind in the world. As we saw a few days ago, the Spanish Harrier II Plus of the 9th Squadron cancelled their attendance at RIAT 2025 at the last minute, an absence that many attendees at that event will have regretted, since those STOVL fighters of the Spanish Navy usually receive a lot of applause at RAF Fairford, as we saw last year.

All in all, Spain has participated in RIAT 2025, and at the highest level. Although two were initially planned, three Eurofighters from the 14th Wing, based in Los Llanos (Albacete), finally flew to RAF Fairford this week to participate in this festival. The Spanish delegation was led by the Chief of the Air Force Staff (JEMA), Air Force General Francisco Braco Carbó. Above these lines we see a photo published yesterday by the Air Force in which we see him with the other Spanish aviators who traveled to RAF Fairford.

As we can see in this photo by Martyn Foss, the Spanish Eurofighters that have flown at RIAR 2025 have been, specifically, the C.16-73 (14-73, with a nice decoration alluding to the NATO Tiger Meets), the C.16-62 (14-62) and the C.16-36 (14-36). In addition, a CASA C-295M transport aircraft from the 35th Wing (T.21-04, 35-04, based at Getafe) and a Sikorsky S-76C helicopter from the 49th Wing have also been deployed to RAF Fairford.

The Spanish Eurofighters have left some very good photos and videos at RIAT 2025. The C.16-36 made a high-speed pass this Sunday, captured in the photo by Nick Jennings that you can see above these lines. In addition, the C.16-73 has given flight displays that have caught the attention of several British YouTube channels specializing in aeronautical matters. This Saturday, spotter Elwyn Roberts, a regular on the famous Mach Loop in Wales, described the Spanish fighter's performance as "spectacular." Here's his video:

On Friday, another British aviation channel, PlanesTV, posted this video recorded on Thursday showing the C.16-73 being rehearsed for its displays at RIAT 2025:

I've left my favorite British channel for last, that of Ted Coningsby, the teddy bear who has flown in an RAF Eurofighter and with the Red Arrows, a celebrity among aviation enthusiasts in the United Kingdom and other countries. Ted highlighted a detail of the Spanish Eurofighter display: "This display was not only aggressive but produced a phenomenon that we don't see very often here in the UK; well, actually this was our first time, we saw vapour cones." The steam cones generated by the C.16-73 that Ted discusses in his video were captured by Japanese photographer Admiral Hartman (@Gunny_SukumoHQ), but in C.16-62, as we see in this excellent image: "It made a high-speed pass that created a layer of air, and this was the first time I've ever taken a picture of that", says Hartman:

Congratulations to the aviators of the 14th Wing for such an outstanding demonstration of their capabilities at this important event, which not only serves to perform acrobatics, but also to showcase the potential of our Armed Forces and our defense industry to the entire world.
