Sánchez encourages leftist violence without condemning the murder of Charlie Kirk

After an interview by Iñaki Gabilondo with the socialist José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the then president of the government confessed to that journalist, who was close to his party: "it suits us that there is tension". That statement explains many things that the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) has done and continues to do today, including Sánchez's attempt to create a smokescreen to cover up his corruption scandals, which have been causing the PSOE to collapse in the polls for months.

An example of this tension, which suits the PSOE, is what happened in this year's edition of the Vuelta a España, which concludes today in Madrid. Far-left activists waving Palestinian flags have been violently disrupting stages of La Vuelta, as happened in yesterday's stage. These attacks on a sporting competition are neither spontaneous nor the work of uncontrolled individuals: they have been organized by far-left parties and instigated by the government itself. Right now, Spain is the only country in the European Union whose government encourages violent attacks on sports competitions, something extraordinarily serious.

In recent weeks, these attacks have tarnished Spain's international image, portraying us as a country where even a sporting event can't be organized normally because the left wants to strain everything, including sports, to cover up its corruption scandals. In any other country, events of this gravity, which damage our reputation as a nation, would have received an official response at the highest level. However, Pedro Sánchez has not issued even the slightest condemnation of these violent attacks on La Vuelta. Furthermore, this Sunday, at a PSOE rally in Andalusia, Sánchez expressed his "admiration" for these protests, again without disapproving of their acts of violence.

So, Spain has a prime minister who is encouraging leftist violence, first by avoiding condemning it and now, in addition, by praising those who use it to disrupt a sporting event. A democratic government should do just the opposite, because violence for political purposes should have no place in a democratic society, but Sánchez's cabinet, a coalition of socialists and communists, has been flirting with all kinds of dictatorships for years and has among its partners EH Bildu, a party that does not even condemn the 853 murders perpetrated by the terrorist group ETA, including the 22 murders of children and babies.

That the president of the Spanish government encourages leftist violence should be a scandal, because what it tells us is that the socialist leader believes the left is legitimized to use any means to achieve its ends. However, in Spain we have already grown accustomed to having an unscrupulous politician in power, a politician who this week has not had time to condemn the murder of Conservative leader Charlie Kirk. Sánchez has said absolutely nothing about this crime, which has sparked a heated international debate on leftist extremism. In fact, in his seven years in office, Sánchez has not condemned any of the numerous attacks suffered by his political rivals.

This tells us the kind of mentality the Spanish Prime Minister has: Without condemning the murder of Charlie Kirk, Sánchez is dedicated to encouraging leftist violence that has put cyclists at grave risk in the attacks on La Vuelta in recent weeks. Sánchez is something worse than an irresponsible politician: he is a fanatic willing to set his country on fire to stay in power.

UPDATED 6:54 PM: A few minutes after publishing this article, and following Sánchez's support for these violent protests, the far left has disrupted the end of La Vuelta in Madrid, causing riots in the streets:

All this so Sánchez can cover up his corruption scandals. Today we are projecting a pitiful image as a country. It will be a miracle if the International Cycling Union doesn't expel Spain from its competition circuit.
