Yesterday I finished watching "The Final List: Black Wolf", the prequel to the excellent series "The Final List" released by Prime Video three years ago.
In this new series, the action shifts its focus from Navy SEAL officer James Reece, once again played by American actor Chris Pratt, to Ben Edwards, the CIA agent and friend of Reece's who we saw in the original series, played by Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch. The start of the action takes us back to the time when both were fighting with the Navy SEALs in Iraq against ISIS. This new series shows how Edwards ended up in the CIA. Before continuing, I want to make a NOTICE in case anyone wants to stop reading here, because I will reveal some details of the plot below.
One of the things I liked most is that we see a joint operation between the CIA and the Mossad, Israel's foreign intelligence service and one of the most effective spy agencies in the world. At a time when we are seeing a new wave of antisemitism in the West, where people are subjected to acts of cancellation for having Israeli nationality or being Jewish, it is appreciated to see the participation of two Israeli actresses, Rona-Lee Shimon and Shiraz Tzarfati, in the series. So, this is not a series suitable for antisemites, which I am very happy about. Furthermore, the enemy in this series is Iran, an Islamist dictatorship that is being obscenely whitewashed by the far left. One more reason for "The Final List: Black Wolf" to be difficult for more than one person.
It must be said that this series once again exhibits the high quality of the first season, with a good plot, excellent photography and very good performances, especially that of the protagonist, Kitsch, who already played a good role three years ago. We are, once again, before an excellent action series that skillfully combines the best characteristics of this genre with a good story, something thanks to the novelist Jack Carr, on whose works this series is based.
So, I highly recommend it, although I warn you that there are violent scenes that are not suitable for children (I'm telling you this in case you're going to watch it with them). Here's the trailer for the series:
