Sánchez's 'expert' on hate praised Bildu, a party that does not condemn terrorism

For some time now, the Spanish left has been labeling as "hate" anything that does not coincide with its ideological theses.

In case there were any remaining doubts, Pedro Sánchez's government has offered a new example of this perverse political strategy organizing an "international summit against hate" that will feature Sarah Santaolalla as an "expert", a left-wing activist who has been highly controversial for her statements on various television talk shows and for a false accusation of assault against journalist Vito Quiles, whom Santaolalla has accused of "fascist terrorism" for events in which the victim was precisely that journalist.

Santaolalla has been defending the Sánchez government's positions on various television programs, with a rather lamentable style. Coincidentally, she was a PSOE mayoral candidate in Salamanca in 2023, which explains her eagerness to justify everything the government does. This includes whitewashing the PSOE's pacts with EH Bildu, an extreme left-wing party that does not condemn ETA terrorism and that in 2023 also refused to condemn the terrorist attack Hamas's attack against Israel, the largest anti-Semitic massacre since the Holocaust.

On December 26, 2024, Santaolalla stated: "Bildu in recent years has done more for Spaniards than the entire right wing combined". At that time, this woman was hardly known and her message had little impact, the same as happened on April 26, 2024, when Santaolalla wrote: "It should sting them more that a party they detest as much as Bildu, has done more for social progress than they have".

The repercussions were much greater on February 3 of this year, when Santaolalla wrote: "Bildu is not ETA, Bildu is much more democratic than VOX and thanks to Bildu's support, numerous social measures have been approved for this country". It's worth remembering that the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, was threatened with death by ETA for years. Likewise, Francisco José Alcaraz, former president of the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT), is a member of the Vox parliamentary group. On December 11, 1987, ETA murdered his nieces Miriam and Esther, aged 3, and his brother Pedro Ángel, aged 17, in a brutal attack against the Civil Guard barracks in Zaragoza.

Bildu is a party whose raison d'être is hatred of Spain, the same hatred that led ETA to murder hundreds of Spaniards, including children and babies. It is outrageous that the government is using the money of all Spaniards for an event about "hate" with an "expert" who whitewashes Bildu, simply because the Sánchez government, in an act of disgrace and lack of scruples, decided to make a pact with that totalitarian party to cling to power.
