Canada has a huge territory (it is the second largest country in the world) and is full of places that are a magnet for adventurers.

A wild route to Telegraph Creek, a remote community in British Columbia
Touring a beautiful and unfrequented mountain area of British Columbia

One of the most rugged territories in the country is British Columbia, Canada's westernmost province. Two months ago, the YouTube channel The Story Till Now ventured into the Kootenay Mountains in the southern part of that Canadian province. The video they published shows a journey in two Jeeps along an old railway line in the dead of winter, leading to an old and eerie tunnel.

Construction of the Bulldog Tunnel began in 1898, as part of a Canadian Pacific Railway line to connect Pup Creek with Dog Creek. In mid-September 1899, two tunnel workers, James Pease and J. Gilbert, died of asphyxiation inside the tunnel after entering it too soon following a blast, without waiting for the gases to dissipate. The tunnel was closed in 1961, after a long history of misfortunes that included derailments, rockfalls, and other accidents.

The railway line was completely abandoned in 1991 and today it is a greenway, without rails, which can be driven on by off-road vehicle, as we see in the video, in which its protagonists go in search of Renata, a ghost town submerged by the construction of a reservoir in 1968 and whose remains are only visible when the water level drops:

You can see some screenshots from this interesting video here, which has excellent recording quality. At the beginning of the video we can see a special transport vehicle carrying a Canadian Army Textron TAPV armored vehicle:

Here we can see the protagonists' two SUVs on the old railway line. This idea of two adventurers traveling the world in two Jeeps sounds familiar. 🤔

The Labrador retriever belonging to the stars of the video. His name is Charlie. He'd surely get along famously with our beloved Alfred, the intrepid quadruped from Aventuras Entresierras. This video is like a Canadian version of that Spanish YouTube channel.

The two vehicles inside the tunnel. An impressive image.
