Javier Milei, president of Argentina, warns: “If Israel falls, then the West will come”

Antisemitism is a scourge that in the last century caused one of the greatest genocides in the history of humanity: the Holocaust.

Today, antisemitism is experiencing a resurgence, fueled by the perpetrators, instigators, and supporters of the largest anti-Semitic massacre since the Holocaust: Hamas's terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023. Antisemitism is a scourge that is already causing scenes in the West that seem straight out of 1930s Germany. A scourge that many remain silent about, some out of cowardice and others out of complicity.

Therefore, I find the speech given yesterday by Javier Milei, President of Argentina, at the first plenary session of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), worthy of applause. In it, he stated: "Combating antisemitism is not only about defending a people, it is about defending the morality that lies at the foundation of our civilization, because it is the rejection of these values ​​that throughout history has fueled hatred of Jews." Milei also stated the following:

"The Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th was a turning point that made undeniable what many preferred to ignore. The specter of hatred remains as alive as ever, and it will not stop in its mission to destroy Judaism and the entire West. Let us remember this: Israel is the bastion of the West. The fight against Israel, if Israel falls, then comes the West.

We must defend Israel's position from a moral standpoint because it is a just cause. But if they don't want to understand it as a just cause, then it should be understood as a utilitarian issue.

If they take down Israel, they will take down the West. Therefore, we must not only defend Israel for utilitarian reasons, we must defend it above all else, because it is a noble cause, and we cannot give up because in that battle they will take down the West.

For this reason, we have no qualms about maintaining that today there is an implicit alliance between the radical left and Islamist terrorism. This alliance functions as a contemporary vector of antisemitism, and the secret thread that unites them is none other than hatred of Western civilization.

Therefore, the proliferation of antisemitism is the canary in the coal mine of decadence; it is the first sign of the path of destruction they want to lead us down."
