Some historic images of the July 4th air parade over that city

Eight Spanish fighter jets over New York and a B-29 bomber over the ship 'Juan Carlos I'

More images continue to arrive of the spectacular naval and air parade on July 4th in New York for the 250th anniversary of the USA.

Last Sunday, we already saw here the large Spanish representation in that parade, with several Navy ships and eight fighter jets from the Air Force and the Navy's Air Wing (FLOAN). Last Sunday, Zinger Aviation Media published a complete video showing the July 4th air parade over New York:

In the video, we can see the Spanish participation in the parade. At 28:04, we see four Harrier II Plus fighter jets from the 9th Squadron of the Spanish Navy appear in the distance, flying in a diamond formation. The aircraft were unarmed and had an external fuel tank under each wing.

At 29:03, we see four Spanish Air Force fighter jets in the distance, specifically two EF-18M Hornets from Wing 15 and two Eurofighters from Wing 11, also in a diamond formation, with the Hornets flanking them. All four aircraft were unarmed. The EF-18Ms carried three external fuel tanks, and the Eurofighters carried two each.

In addition to the fighter jets, an A330M MRTT multirole aircraft from Wing 45 also participated in this parade. It can be seen starting at 18:02 in the video. This aircraft provided in-flight refueling for the two EF-18Ms and the two Spanish Eurofighters that flew to the United States to participate in this parade.

This is the first time nine Spanish military aircraft have flown over New York, as far as I know. These are images that will be very difficult to repeat, but there's an even rarer sight. Yesterday, Commemorative Air Force released a video filmed from the B-29 bomber "Fifi" that participated in the parade (you can see it at the beginning of the Zinger Aviation Media video). "Fifi" is one of only two B-29 Superfortresses still airworthy. We saw it here in 2019 in a video recorded from inside. In this new video, we can see it flying over New York last Saturday, in footage recorded from the port wing of that historic World War II aircraft:

"Fifi" flew over the naval parade, passing over the Upper Bay and the Hudson River and leaving spectacular images like this one, in which we see this historic bombing run flying in front of the enormous World Trade Center tower:

However, the image that most caught my attention was the following. I'm sure Spanish readers of this blog will recognize a familiar silhouette:

Here we can see an enlargement of the previous image, with "Fifi" flying over the aircraft carrier "Juan Carlos I" L-61, the flagship of the Spanish Navy and one of the naval units that represented Spain in that parade:
