Imagine the scandal if Vox publicly boasted of having the support of a terrorist group

Some people think that many media outlets have an ideological bias that favors left-wing parties and positions.

In Spain, we can observe this bias with astonishing clarity. Vox, a right-wing party, has been the target of a systematic demonization campaign, directed not only by left-wing media outlets, but also by some media that ostensibly hold centrist positions. This party has been systematically labeled "far-right" by many media outlets despite defending democratic principles and carrying out its activities through legal and peaceful means. In its 12 years of existence, Vox has never expressed its support for a dictatorship, something that six Spanish parliamentary parties have done, all of them left-wing, without any of them being labeled as "far left" by the vast majority of the media.

Similarly, Vox has never supported a terrorist group nor boasted of having the support of any criminal group. In fact, several prominent members of Vox are victims of terrorism. Its president, Santiago Abascal, was threatened with death by the terrorist group ETA for years, being forced to live with bodyguards to avoid being assassinated. The same ETA whose crimes EH Bildu, an ally of Pedro Sánchez's government, refuses to condemn, yet the government does not refrain from making deals with that party, which is repeatedly labeled "far-left" by the media.

Vox has only had to disagree with the ideological dogmas of the left to become the target of this witch hunt, with which the Spanish left—both political and media—has been demonstrating its intolerance towards diverse opinions. Let's imagine for a moment what would happen if Vox boasted of supporting a terrorist group at a public event. Many media outlets that have demonized it without reason would, in that case, have good reason to direct their harshest attacks against it.

Yesterday I showed here what happened yesterday at a public event of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), an extreme left-wing separatist coalition that is also an ally of the Sánchez government. At a public event in Santiago de Compostela, the BNG boasted of having the support for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a criminal organization listed by the EU as a terrorist group. Since its founding in 1967, the PFLP has used murder and kidnapping to achieve its political aims. From its inception, the vast majority of its victims have been unarmed civilians, including minors and, in many cases, Jewish, highlighting the antisemitic motivations behind its criminal activity.

What happened yesterday was not an isolated incident. As I already pointed out here yesterday, year after year the BNG has been doing the same thing at every event it organizes on July 25th in Santiago. And year after year, practically all the media outlets remain silent about these events, as if they were deaf and therefore hadn't realized that the second most voted party in Galicia publicly boasts of supporting a terrorist group, messages that make the BNG's true opinion on terrorism very clear.

This astonishing silence would be normal in a country with few media outlets, most of which had a clear left-wing bias. In Spain, there are numerous media outlets of varying ideologies: how can this almost total media indifference towards something like this be explained? Twelve hours have passed since I published my article yesterday, pointing out this fact, and once again, Counting Stars has been left alone denouncing the BNG's alignment with the FPLP. Where are all the other Spanish journalists? Have they all gone on vacation? Does the left have a license to commit the greatest atrocities without anyone saying a word?
