'OTTO', an excellent short film about a domestic robot that desires a different life

One of the most famous stories of this kind is undoubtedly Isaac Asimov's "Bicentennial Man," adapted for the screen in 1999 under the direction of Chris Columbus and featuring Robin Williams in an outstanding lead role. Following in that tradition, Luis Romero Rubio—a freelance creative director from Puerto Rico—has created an excellent short film using artificial intelligence titled "OTTO." It portrays a domestic robot aspiring to be something more, observing the finest example of humanity right before its eyes: the family it served. You can watch the short film here:

I must admit I loved this little film, especially its ending. It also serves as an example of the possibilities AI is opening up for animated filmmaking, delivering increasingly astonishing quality. The logical question is: how long will it be before we see a short film both created and directed by AI? That is, assuming it hasn't been done already...
