The anniversary of Miguel Ángel Blanco's murder leaves the PSOE in a bad light

The socialists and their pacts with terrorist admirers: when the truth is bothersome

Yesterday marked the 28th anniversary of the murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco, a councilor for the Popular Party, by the terrorist group ETA.

The favors to ETA for which Pedro Sánchez does not want anyone to talk about those terrorists
Sánchez breaks his word and meets with Bildu, which does not condemn the terrorism of ETA and Hamas

That crime was one of the most shocking to Spanish society of all the murders committed by that terrorist organization, because ETA carried it out after kidnapping Miguel Ángel and after blackmailing Spain, threatening to murder the PP councilor if the government of José María Aznar did not bring the imprisoned ETA terrorists closer to Basque prisons before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 1997. The government did not give in to the blackmail and ETA murdered Miguel Ángel in cold blood with two shots to the head, which provoked a wave of anger throughout Spain, which even led citizens to surround the headquarters of Herri Batasuna, the political arm of that terrorist organization.

Today, EH Bildu still fails to condemn the murder of Miguel Ángel and the other 852 murders perpetrated by ETA, including the murders of 22 children and babies. Furthermore, the party has continued to pay tribute to terrorists every time they are released from prison, with Pedro Sánchez's government doing nothing to prevent these infamous tributes. In a humiliation of ETA's victims, the socialist government allied itself with EH Bildu without caring that it does not even condemn those hundreds of murders committed against Spanish citizens, simply because Sánchez needed Bildu's votes to stay in power.

In recent years, and with absolute cynicism, the Sánchez government and his party, the PSOE, have criticized the PP's pacts with a democratic party, Vox, whose national president spent years forced to have a bodyguard because he was threatened with death by ETA. At the same time, Sánchez shamelessly makes pacts with ETA's heirs, without even demanding that they condemn the crimes of that terrorist group or stop paying tribute to the murderers.

This week, representatives of the PSOE have abandoned the official memorial services for Miguel Ángel Blanco in Burgos and Santander, simply because the colleagues of the murdered councillor criticized Sánchez's pacts with those who do not condemn this crime. Just as with the corruption scandals and the harassment by the socialists of the judges and the media that investigate them, what happened at these two official events is a new example of how the PSOE is bothered by the truth, it is bothered by being reminded of the kind of allies it has, its perverse pacts with enemies of freedom and democracy who for years have justified murder as a method to silence their rivals and to achieve their objectives.

The socialist José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will go down in history as the scoundrel who carried out a political negotiation with ETA that resulted in the legalization of the political wing of that murderous gang, without demanding in return even something as basic as the condemnation of terrorism. That was one of the key moments in the process that has led the current government to whitewash admirers of terrorists, which is what Sánchez has been doing since his political future depended on those scoundrels. Both Zapatero and Sánchez deserve to be remembered as two politicians without morals, the former opening the doors of democratic institutions to terrorists and the latter making deals with them. And if saying this offends them, they can go to hell. Those who have reason to feel offended are ETA's victims, not some sleazy politicians who have allied themselves with the friends of the murderers.
