Propaganda that serves to whitewash Russia and its allied dictatorships

The anti-Western propaganda that is poisoning a segment of the right-wing

I have spent many years criticizing the lies of far-left propaganda against the West and its support for criminal dictatorships.

An example of the hoaxes that some people use to reduce support for the Ukrainian cause
The surrealist drift of the anti-Western far right: yesterday Moscow and now Beijing

For some time now I have been finding practically the same lies, but aimed at poisoning the right-wing, from supposedly "patriotic" channels, but whose purpose seems to be, judging by their content, to weaken the West in order to favor dictatorships like Russia, communist China, North Korea, and other Kremlin allies.

Today I will give some examples of this propaganda, all of them from a Telegram channel, "Herqles," whose motto is "It's time for patriots." The idea that this channel (with more than 50,000 followers) has of patriotism is, to say the least, curious:

"No one outside the decadent globalist sphere has the slightest interest in the survival of Ukraine; for the US it is an obstacle, for Russia a separatist region, and for China it is irrelevant in terms of territorial integrity. Ukraine is also an obstacle for European patriotic forces, aware that without the Ukrainian problem, a broader alliance in Europe would be possible." (February 23, 2025)

The Ukrainian people are putting on an admirable display of patriotism, defending their homeland against the invasion of a foreign power, but for "Herqles" it's better that Ukraine doesn't survive because this situation doesn't suit certain parties that support the invaders. What kind of "patriotism" is that!

If we're talking about a dictatorship allied with Russia, the Iranian Islamist regime, then things change and "Herqles" considers that Iran is legitimately entitled to have nuclear weapons because of its "national sovereignty" (let's remember that in 2019 Iran threatened to "eliminate Israel from the face of the Earth"):

"One can be more or less aligned with the Anglo-American empire, but to claim that Iran was going to use a nuclear weapon against the US is false and absurd. What the development of nuclear weapons can grant Iran is the acquisition of full national sovereignty and, therefore, a leap forward as a power in the region, something that the US and Israel clearly want to prevent." (June 22, 2025)

The worldview conveyed by that channel is distorted by the typical contradictions of those who subscribe to the Kremlin's theses, but then they have to perform veritable acrobatics to talk about some of their allies, for example, the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro, which "Herqles" links to "Anglo internationalism" despite being an ally of Russia:

"The Nicolás Maduro regime is a Bolivarian narco-dictatorship, heir to the Chavista regime, which has blockaded the Latin American region for decades in favor of Anglo internationalism. Despite its apparent anti-imperialist rhetoric." (August 1, 2024)

Another of Russia's allied dictatorships that "Herqles" whitewashes is communist China, a one-party regime that has had to combine an official far-left ideology with a market economy because communist economic policies were leading the country to ruin. This is what "Herqles" says about that communist dictatorship:

"China has absolutely nothing against Hispanic culture; on the contrary, in the Asian country, the 19th century is remembered as the century of humiliation (humiliation at the hands of the Anglo-Saxons). Moreover, the defeat of Russia and China is synonymous with a unipolar world with American globalists as the sole power. Russian resistance and China's advance are synonymous with a multipolar world where Spain and Latin America would once again have a decisive strategic and commercial role." (March 6, 2023)

The obvious problem is: how to whitewash a criminal movement like communism before a right-wing audience? The right has historically been anti-communist, so the task is complicated. "Herqles" solved it with this trick:

"It is important to distinguish between Chinese communism, Russian communism, and Western communism. The first two are nationalisms with inherited symbolism, nothing to do with the internationalization of the proletariat and/or the class struggle. It is a remnant symbolic communism, especially the Chinese, which, despite being a state capitalism, possesses a very strong communist aesthetic. In Russia, it is only a historical issue." (May 7, 2023)

The reality is very different. A few months ago, Russia was furious about the ban on communism in the Czech Republic, because, after all, Western communist parties have been favoring Russia in a very obvious way. In 2021, Putin penalized in Russia any attempt to equate Nazism with Communism, something that is not surprising if we take into account that the Russian dictator was an intelligence officer of the KGB, the sinister political police of the Soviet dictatorship. Likewise, in 2018 Putin equated communism with Christianity, comparing Lenin's mummy to the relics of saints.

Let us also remember that Chinese communism has as one of its main allies in Europe the socialist Pedro Sánchez, whose government is the only one with communist ministers in the European Union.

Ignoring all of this, "Herqles" is capable of whitewashing even the most brutal communist dictatorship: North Korea. On April 27, 2025, "Herqles" announced: "North Korea has confirmed that it has officially joined the war in Ukraine on the Russian side". Perhaps that explains the following post, in which this channel, which uses expressions like "Anglo-American empire", is able to talk about North Korea without using words like "dictatorship" or "communist":

"North Korea's ruling party unanimously re-elects Kim Jong-un as its general secretary, renewing his leadership until the next party congress, held every five years." (February 24, 2026)

"Herqles" avoids the word "dictator" when referring to Kim Jong-un, but curiously a year ago he called Zelensky a "dictator", despite being the democratically elected president of Ukraine. This, like other things, is yet another example of the manipulations of Western propaganda that are poisoning the right-wing through channels like that one, which some follow and others gravitate towards as if they didn't care about being associated with such infamous rhetoric.
