In Spain there is a growing number of criticisms about the tricks used by Sánchez's government to steal the next elections.
As we saw a few days ago, the government is fraudulently using the so-called "Grandchildren Law" to inflate the electoral roll. There is a massive granting of Spanish nationality to people who have never lived in Spain, in a blatant attempt to replace the growing number of voters abandoning the left with new foreign voters.
Yolanda Díaz denies that there could be electoral fraud in Spain
This Tuesday, the second vice president of the government, the communist Yolanda Díaz, referred to these accusations in statements made in Madrid, affirming that Spain is a "solid, radically solid democracy, in which there is no electoral fraud." Furthermore, he has demanded an "immediate rectification" from the national president of the People's Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who yesterday denounced "a process of electoral engineering", but without mentioning "rigging".
In 2024, Díaz called for the recognition of elections marred by fraud in Venezuela
To tell the truth, Yolanda Díaz is one of the least qualified people to talk about the fairness of elections in Spain, considering the kind of electoral processes she has endorsed during her time as vice president. In case anyone has forgotten, in July 2024 Díaz called for the recognition of the results of the elections in Venezuela, results that were also whitewashed by Enrique Santiago, general secretary of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE, of which Yolanda Díaz has been a member for many years) and deputy for Sumar (Díaz's coalition) in the Congress.
The 2024 elections in Venezuela were a colossal electoral fraud that was denounced by the European Parliament in September 2024, with a resolution that the socialists and their far-left allies rejected. One month after the election, Venezuela's National Electoral Council (CNE), controlled by the dictatorship, had still not published the results broken down by polling stations and voting tables, a clear indicator of the fraud perpetrated by Nicolás Maduro's regime. But by then, Yolanda Díaz had already validated the result favorable to the dictator.
Her party, the PCE, accepted fraudulent elections in Venezuela and Belarus.
Furthermore, what Yolanda Díaz understands by a "solid democracy" is also highly questionable, considering her membership in a party, the PCE, that openly supports dictatorships and which, like the second vice president of the government, accepted the fraudulent official result of the 2024 elections in Venezuela, even though the CNE had not published the detailed results.
In 2020, the PCE also whitewashed elections in Belarus that were deemed fraudulent by the European Parliament. Since Lukashenko came to power in 1994, Belarus has been a regime in which its dictator maintains his grip on power through constant electoral fraud and by persecuting and imprisoning opposition leaders. Today, they are all either in prison or in exile.
Yolanda Díaz praised the dictator Fidel Castro in 2016
Finally, in 2016, Yolanda Díaz openly praised the dictator Fidel Castro, a tyrant who remained in power for decades without free elections, with a one-party regime and systematically violating the most basic human rights. After that, the communist vice president's statements about the integrity of any electoral process completely lack credibility and only serve to increase suspicions about what her government is doing by massively granting Spanish citizenship to a multitude of foreigners for electoral purposes.
