The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), one of the largest air festivals in the world, concluded yesterday after three intense days.
In this year's edition there have been notable absences in the chapter on acrobatic patrols. There have not been any American teams, only two from Europe (the Spanish Eagle Patrol and the British Red Arrows, two excellent teams) and three from the Middle East (the Royal Jordanian Falcons, the Saudi Hawks and the Emirati Fursan Al Emarat). The aerobatic patrol of the Spanish Air Force put on a great display, as usual. You can see it in this video from Tonkatsu298:
The comments I have read on the net about the Patrulla Águila exhibition are very appreciative. It is an honor to know that Spain is so well represented with these excellent pilots.
In addition to the C-101s of the Patrulla Águila, the Air Force also deployed a CASA C-295 from the 35th Wing for static display and as a support aircraft. You can see here some screenshots of the video, including the traditional pass of the Patrulla Águila drawing the Spanish Flag, one of the hallmarks of this acrobatic team.
