In the last few hours we have learned great news about Israel's counteroffensive against the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
The elimination of Hassan Nasrallah
Yesterday, in an Israeli strike against Hezbollah's command center in Beirut, the head of the terrorist organization, Hassan Nasrallah, was eliminated. This is excellent news not only for Israel but also for Lebanon, a country that has suffered especially from the criminal actions of Hezbollah, since this Islamist terrorist group has practically become the owner of that country, plunging it into a spiral of misery and violence. In fact, Hezbollah is the cause of Lebanon being in a state of war again, as the terrorist organization has launched more than 8,200 projectiles from Lebanese soil at Israel in 11 months, in an attempt to indiscriminately kill Israeli civilians.
Hezbollah's brutal attacks against Argentina
In addition to Israel and Lebanon, there are two other very distant countries that also have reason to celebrate the disappearance of the Hezbollah chief. The first of them is Argentina. On March 17, 1992, the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires was the victim of a brutal attack by a truck bomb. Due to the enormous power of the explosion, the Israeli Embassy, a Catholic church (the parish of the Admirable Mother) and a school were destroyed in the attack.
In that attack four Israeli citizens and 25 Argentine citizens were killed, among them the parish priest of the aforementioned Catholic church, Juan Carlos Brumana, 37 years old. In addition, 242 people were injured. A few months ago, the Argentine justice system confirmed that the attack was perpetrated by Hezbollah and ordered by the Iranian Islamist dictatorship.
On July 18, 1994, there was another terrorist attack against the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires. The attack was carried out by a truck bomb driven by a suicide bomber. The attack killed 85 people and injured 300. To this day it is the largest terrorist attack recorded in all of South America. A few months ago, the Argentine justice system confirmed that the attack was carried out by Hezbollah and ordered by Iran. These two brutal Hezbollah attacks against Argentina were carried out after Hassan Nasrallah became the head of that terrorist organisation in February 1992.
The attack on Alas Chiricanas flight 901 in Panama
One day after the terrorist attack against the AMIA in Buenos Aires, a bomb exploded on board an Alas Chiricanas airline flight 901, which had just taken off from the city of Colón, Panama. All 21 people on board, including 12 Jews, were killed in the terrorist attack. The attack remains unsolved to this day, but Ansar Allah, a Hezbollah faction that had expressed support for the AMIA attack, also announced its support for the attack in Panama. All indications point to Hezbollah and Iran being behind the attack on Flight 901.
Israel did in 10 days what the UN has not wanted to do in 18 years
In ten days, Israel has succeeded in eliminating the entire leadership of Hezbollah. With this operation against terrorism, the Jewish state has done more for security and peace than the UN has done in 18 years. Let us remember that United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, adopted on August 12, 2006, demanded that Hezbollah be disarmed. The UN has done absolutely nothing about it. In all these years, Hezbollah has been accumulating an enormous arsenal with which it has systematically attacked the people of Israel.
After 11 months of attacks on its citizens from Lebanon, Israel has fulfilled its duty to take the necessary measures to eliminate Hezbollah, and has done so with admirable efficiency. Obviously, in every war there are collateral casualties, but just as in the case of Gaza, the blame for the deaths of innocent civilians lies with the Iranian-backed terrorists, who use the civilian population of Gaza and Lebanon as human shields, hiding behind them to carry out their attacks against Israel.
The Jewish state has been doing more to avoid civilian casualties than any other country in history, sending messages to the civilian population to evacuate the areas of operation before each attack. What no one can ask of Israel is that it give up defending itself and allow terrorists to murder its citizens with impunity without doing anything to protect them.
