Iran has been supporting and organizing terrorist attacks on Israel for decades

Who attacked first? The attacks against Israel that Iran and its propagandists forget

Iran's attack against Israel last weekend is being justified by Tehran in a way that can be described as cynical.

Iran justifies its attack on Israel by an attack on one of its embassies

The Iranian dictatorship has alleged that "Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus". With this statement, Tehran refers to the April 1 attack against an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus, Syria, an attack that has not been recognized by Israel and in which several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran (IRGC), an organization qualified as terrorist by the US since 2019. Among members of the IRGC eliminated in that attack was Mohammad Reza Zahedi, top leader of that organization in Syria and Lebanon, linked to the Hezbollah terrorists and who coordinated the terrorist attacks against Israel from those two countries.

A terrorist who supported Hezbollah criminals in Lebanon

Mohammad Reza Zahedi's terrorist activity came from afar. In August 2010, the US pointed out Reza Zahedi, stating that "plays a key role in Iran's support to Hizballah. Zahedi held several senior positions in the IRGC-Qods Force including Commander of the Lebanon Corps and Deputy Commander of the Qods Force. He has also acted as a liaison to Hizballah and Syrian intelligence services and is reportedly charged with guaranteeing weapons shipments to Hizballah." So, Reza Zahedi. It had been dedicated for many years to supplying weapons to terrorists who attack Israel, clear proof of Iran's involvement in these attacks.

Apart from that, since 1979 the Islamist regime of Iran has been supporting, financing and supplying weapons to terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. , groups that have dedicated themselves to attacking Israel with Iranian weapons, murdering Israeli citizens.

The brutal attack against the Israeli Embassy in Argentina in 1992

In addition to using these terrorist organizations to attack Israel, Iran has used its own agents to carry out some attacks precisely against Israeli embassies in several countries. For these attacks, Iran used practices typical of the terrorist organizations it supports. The most lethal attack was perpetrated on March 17, 1992 against the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires . In that attack 4 Israeli citizens and 25 Argentine citizens were murdered. Additionally, 242 people were injured.

The attack was carried out by a truck bomb driven by a suicide bomber. In addition to the Israeli Embassy, a Catholic church, the parish of the Admirable Mother, and a school that were close to the diplomatic delegation were destroyed, due to the great power of the explosion. The parish priest of the destroyed church, Juan Carlos Brumana, 37, was killed in that attack, which was claimed by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist group financed by Iran. A few days ago, The Argentine Justice confirmed that the attack was carried out by Hezbollah ordered by the Iranian regime.

The attack against the AMIA in Buenos Aires: 85 people murdered

That was the deadliest attack suffered by Argentina until July 18, 1994, when there was another terrorist attack against the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires. Again, the attack was carried out with a truck bomb driven by a suicide bomber. The attack killed 85 people and injured 300, making it the largest terrorist attack recorded in South America to date. As in the case of the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, a few days ago, Argentine Justice confirmed that the attack on the AMIA was perpetrated by Hezbollah ordered by the Iranian regime.

The wave of attacks against Israel linked to Iran

The 1992 terrorist attack was not the only Iran-linked attack on an Israeli embassy:

To these attacks we must add the attack that murdered 5 Israeli tourists in Bulgaria on July 18, 2012, perpetrated by Iranian agents, and arrests of Iranian agents in Nepal and Iran's foiled attacks in Kenya, Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, South Africa and Peru, in some cases using Hezbollah terrorists.

The cynicism of Iran and its propagandists

It is a gesture of maximum cynicism for Iran to complain about an attack on its own embassy when that Islamist regime has been coordinating, supporting and carrying out attacks against Israeli embassies for years. It is also very serious that Iran uses its embassies to coordinate terrorist actions, something that should lead many countries to rethink their diplomatic relations with that terrorist regime.

For the rest, it is still curious that the same people who criticize Israel's response to the Hamas attack on October 7 as "disproportionate" and particularly some who did not even condemn that Hamas attack and even justified it, now consider that an attack on an embassy to eliminate terrorists justifies a massive attack with drones and missiles with the aim of indiscriminately murdering Israeli civilians. It seems that in the end their only argument is that for them it is always justified to murder Jews and citizens of Israel, regardless of the circumstance.
