The separatists of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG) have once again displayed their most infamous alliances at a public event today.
The BNG boasts of the support of the PFLP terrorists and the Cuban dictatorship
As it has done every year, this far-left coalition has organised a public event in the Plaza de la Quintana, next to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. At the beginning of the event, a BNG spokesperson reviewed the endorsements received by this separatist group for this rally, which included separatist parties from the rest of Spain and other countries and communist and far-left organisations. Among the endorsements she mentioned a terrorist group and a dictatorship, which sent representatives to the BNG rally.
The Bloc itself has boasted of the presence of these guests, whom it has identified as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and as the Consulate of the Republic of Cuba, in reference to the delegation of this communist dictatorship in the capital of Galicia. At minute 35:44 of the video of the broadcast of the event, you can hear how this terrorist group and this dictatorship are named (I have inserted the video so that it starts playing at that moment):
Applauding an organisation classified as terrorist by the EU
As can be heard in the video, the PFLP terrorists received a special ovation from the audience, who began chanting the phrase "Palestine will win." This is not the first time that the BNG has exposed its vile attitude towards terrorism in this way. On October 11, 2023, four days after the terrorist massacre perpetrated by Hamas in Israel (the largest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust), the BNG did not want to support a resolution condemning this terrorist attack in the Parliament of Galicia.
Let us remember that the PFLP has been on the lists of terrorist groups by the European Union, the United States and Canada for years. Its designation as a terrorist group by the European Union was renewed in Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/329, published on 16 January 2024. The PFLP has been committing murders against defenceless civilians for decades simply because they are Jewish. Indeed, in addition to being a terrorist organisation, the PFLP openly displays its anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.
The PFLP, its anti-Semitism and its Holocaust denialism
For example, in 2009 Anwar Raja, the PFLP representative in Lebanon, demonized the Jews and denied the genocide committed against them by the Nazis, stating that "If Hitler had won - and by the way, Hitler was no worse than the current American administration... If Hitler had won, we would be reading a different version of history, sir. Our history was written by the victors of World War II, and they found that they had a common interest with the Jews."
The BNG governs in Santiago de Compostela with the support of the PSOE
Let us remember that the BNG governs in the city of Santiago de Compostela without having won the elections, thanks to the support of the socialists of the PSOE, who are the traditional allies of this far-left separatist organization in Galicia. Let us also remember that Spain is on anti-terrorist alert, but despite this the Sánchez government tolerates once again the presence in Spain of anti-Semitic and denialist terrorists. This is not the first time this has happened.
The Sánchez government authorized a PFLP march in Madrid in January
In January, the government authorized a march in Madrid called by the PFLP, making the Spanish capital the first European city to host a march called by a group classified as terrorist by the EU. As if this were not enough, a government minister, the communist Sira Rego, attended the march to express her support for its organizers.
The most astonishing thing about the presence of terrorists at the BNG rally on July 25 in Santiago is that this situation is repeated year after year with almost complete silence from the media, both in Galicia and the rest of Spain, despite the fact that the BNG publicly displays the support and presence of this terrorist group at its rally. Would we see this silence if a right-wing party boasted about the support of a terrorist group and a dictatorship at a rally?
