This morning we saw here the incident involving the Minister of Defense, the socialist Margarita Robles, with some residents of Paiporta.
These residents, affected by the catastrophe of the cold drop of October 29, complained to the minister that the garage of their building is still flooded 25 days after the disaster. Instead of apologizing for the late deployment of the Armed Forces by the government (Pedro Sánchez waited four days to announce it, while the neighbors were without running water, without electricity and enduring looting), Margarita Robles scolded the neighbors, telling them: "it's not my fault".
Primero fue el abandono y ahora el maltrato de la Ministra Robles a los valencianos afectados. pic.twitter.com/4ngZKlOYrs

In the last few hours, this video has gone viral on social media and many media outlets have echoed what happened. As expected, Robles is receiving numerous criticisms for an attitude that is typical of an arrogant bureaucrat who believes that the citizens are at her feet, when in reality it is the minister who should be at the service of the citizens.
Instead of apologizing for his arrogant attitude, Robles has used the Twitter account of the Ministry of Defense to whitewash what happened. He did so through a message published this morning at 11:53 CET in which he shows a screenshot of the video of the incident, but not the video:
📍Las Fuerzas Armadas van a estar el tiempo que haga falta para ayudar a Valencia.
▶️ Así lo ha traslado, in situ, Margarita Robles que ha explicado a los ciudadanos las prioridades que ayuntamientos y comunidad autónoma trasladan a UME y ejércitos para ejecutar los trabajos. pic.twitter.com/y4cPGwaIrb

The message states: "The Armed Forces will be there as long as necessary to help Valencia. This was conveyed on site by Margarita Robles, who explained to the citizens the priorities that the city councils and autonomous community are transferring to the UME and the armies to carry out the work." A message that serves to absolve the minister of responsibility and hide her abrupt attitude towards the residents.
Obviously, the version of the Ministry of Defense and what happened do not coincide. If what Robles said to those affected is what the ministry claims, why does it not show the video?
It is intolerable that a person who receives a public salary paid by all Spaniards should display such an attitude towards neighbours who have been suffering for 25 days from one of the greatest natural catastrophes in recent decades in Spain, but what is the last straw is that the communication channels of a ministry are being used to whitewash and rewrite the incident and prevent the minister from apologising for her attitude. If Robles does not know how to apologise, she should resign.
