After offering six state pacts to Pedro Sánchez, Feijóo now says that he has never trusted him

There are statements by political leaders that seem designed to test citizens' memory... and their patience.

The lesson that Feijóo did not want to learn in the city where he lived before going to Madrid
CGPJ: a betrayal disguised as a success that depends on the word of a liar

This Monday, the national president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, said about Sánchez: "The PP has never trusted this legislature or the president of the Government. We think he is an unreliable person." It is a statement that fills me with astonishment.

On August 30, 2023, Feijóo offered Sánchez six state pacts for a two-year legislature. The full text of the pact proposed by the PP president can be read here (PDF). The Socialist leader's response to Feijóo's offer of a pact came the following day: Sánchez mocked Feijóo through the then PSOE spokesperson, Pilar Alegría, who said that the president of the PP had gone from "wanting to repeal Sanchismo" to "begging for Sanchismo".

On the other hand, I think it is necessary to remember that in recent years the PP has agreed with the PSOE on a RTVE Council that excluded Vox, the third most voted party in Spain and at that time with 52 seats. That same year, the PP also agreed with the PSOE on the Court of Auditors and the office of the Ombudsman.

In December 2022, with Feijóo as national president, the PP handed over control of the Constitutional Court to Sánchez. And finally, last summer, the PP agreed with the PSOE on the General Council of the Judiciary and the Central Electoral Board, again excluding Vox despite being the third most voted party. I denounced then that the PP trusted the word of a liar, and now they come to tell us that they made a pact with someone they didn't trust. I don't know whether to laugh or what...
