The only thing Sánchez can do is cause even more damage to this Nation

Europe is experiencing one of the darkest moments for its peace and security since the end of World War II.

Sanchez ignores the Russian threat and continues to weaken Spain
The infamous favors of Pedro Sánchez's government to Vladimir Putin's dictatorship

Since 2022, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Russia's threats against allied countries, and now also the US shift in foreign policy, lead to an inevitable conclusion: Europe must take its own defense seriously and increase its military resources, because the possibility of an attack on one or more allied countries has increased considerably. This is the case, no matter how much some try to face this moment by resorting to the ostrich tactic of hiding its head in the sand.

As happened during the 2020 pandemic, Spain is facing these difficult times with the worst possible government, a government that yesterday exhibited its lack of plans and its division in a shameful plenary session of Congress, in which we could see Sumar, the communist faction of the government, attacking NATO again. Let us remember that just a week ago, this far-left coalition requested that Spain leave the Atlantic Alliance precisely when those allied countries that share a border with Russia needed the most support.

Spain faces the need to significantly increase its military spending with a government whose members and parliamentary partners are determined to weaken the nation, instead of strengthening it to face this critical moment. Pedro Sánchez has demonstrated many times that his greatest concern is to remain in office at any price, even sacrificing the needs of our national defense. That is why he has no qualms about maintaining as allies separatist and far-left parties that openly detest our Armed Forces, that is, the men and women who have pledged to defend Spain if necessary, even risking their lives to do so.

Added to this is the fact that we have a government besieged by corruption cases, several of which directly affect Sánchez's personal circle, specifically his wife, his brother, and his party. Let us remember that some of these scandals are related to the socialist plundering of public coffers during the pandemic, when some PSOE officials took advantage of those hours of greatest difficulty to profit from the sale of masks. It's not hard to imagine what these unscrupulous politicians might do with an increase in defense spending, especially when, instead of establishing accountability for their corruption scandals, what they have done is harass the judges and journalists investigating these cases.

Faced with the serious challenges ahead, Spain needs a strong and cohesive government, one that does not depend on parties that hate Spain and its Armed Forces, that is committed to being accountable for all its actions and acting with the utmost transparency and respect for the law, and that has the trust of the Spanish people to take the necessary measures for rearmament, clearly explaining, before the elections, what those measures will be and their implications. This is how a government should act in a democracy.

Pedro Sánchez's government is not in a position to face this challenge, as its current lack of parliamentary support is so evident that it does not even intend to fulfill its constitutional duty to present this year's budget, thus definitively abandoning the commitment to fulfill and enforce the Constitution that it made when it took office. This weakened, divided, and corrupt government is not morally entitled to lead Spain in such a difficult time. In fact, at a time like this, what Sánchez could do is cause even more damage than he has already done to our democracy.

It is time for the Spanish people to be called to the polls once again so that we can decide in whose hands we wish to place our trust at such a serious moment as this. For some time now, all serious polls have indicated that Sánchez no longer has that trust. Only the CIS polls continue to give him victory, polls conducted by a government supporter that have long since lost all credibility. The political and social opposition must exert all possible pressure to call new elections, because the only thing Sánchez guarantees us right now is more national weakness, more division, and more corruption. Elections now!
