A reminder of the perverse pact that ERC made with terrorists in 2004

Rufián should wash his mouth before talking about Abascal, knowing what ERC did with ETA

Separatist MP Gabriel Rufián, an ally of the most corrupt government in our democracy, was the protagonist of a disgusting scene today.

It happened in the Congress of Deputies. "Wash your mouths," Rufián told the Vox deputies, accusing Abascal of hiding from ETA. With this statement, the Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) deputy has demonstrated not only his vileness, but also his enormous cynicism. Santiago Abascal has spent years receiving death threats from ETA and carrying bodyguards so that the terrorists would not assassinate him. That is what Rufián means by hiding from that terrorist group, which did the dirty work for the separatist parties.

Let us remember that ETA murdered relatives of people who are now members of Vox. One of them, MP Francisco José Alcaraz, is the brother and uncle of three minors murdered by ETA on December 11, 1987, in the attack on the Civil Guard Barracks in Zaragoza. Those three murdered relatives were Pedro Ángel Alcaraz Martos, 17, and Miriam and Esther Barrera Alcaraz, 3-year-old twin sisters. We must also remember that ETA murdered 853 people, including 22 children and babies.

EH Bildu, the party that Rufián described today as democratic, refuses to condemn these crimes and considers the terrorists who murdered these 853 people to be "political prisoners", something that Rufián's party seems to care little or nothing about, since ERC formed a coalition with EH Bildu in the last European elections.

This is not the only vile act committed by ERC in relation to ETA. In 2004, the then president of ERC and first advisor to the regional government of Catalonia, Josep Lluís Carod Rovira, was discovered by the CNI negotiating with ETA terrorists so that they would not commit crimes in Catalonia, with the promise that in return ERC would support a declaration advocating the right to self-determination of peoples.

A month later, ETA declared a truce only in Catalonia. The fact that ETA continued to kill in the rest of Spain seemed to matter little to radical Catalan separatists. ERC had already officially acknowledged contacts with ETA for this purpose in 2002. The PP called these contacts "intolerable" and the PSOE called them "disgraceful," but now the Socialists have no qualms about governing with ERC and their partners in Bildu.

So, those who should be washing their mouths when talking about Abascal should be Rufián and his colleagues from ERC, a party that, moreover, has already carried out two separatist coups (in 1934 and 2017) against the unity of Spain and constitutional legality. For things like this, ERC would be an illegal party in any other European country, but here in Spain, due to the complicity of the PSOE, we have to put up with those wretches going up to the rostrum of Congress to defame a person like Santiago Abascal, who was threatened with death by ETA for defending Spain and democracy, while Rufián's separatist party made perverse pacts with terrorists.
