The socialists are resorting to self-pity after their corruption cases

The Spaniards we should feel sorry for are the victims of socialism, not Pedro Sánchez

In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about Pedro Sánchez's gaunt appearance and whether he was trying to inspire pity.

According to these speculations, the Spanish socialist leader would be trying to generate pity to mitigate the corruption scandals that surround him, which are greatly damaging his public image both within Spain and in other countries. This Saturday, the first vice president of the government, María Jesús Montero, used Sánchez's gaunt image to appeal to emotions at a public PSOE event. This clears up doubts about whether socialism is trying to use self-pity to compensate for its discredit due to corruption.

I'm sorry if anyone comes across as insensitive, but I find it pathetic that a ruler cornered by corruption is trying to inspire pity in order to cling to office. Honestly, I don't feel sorry for a politician who lives comfortably in a palace, who abuses aircraft paid for by all Spaniards to travel, and who is blatantly abusing his power, attacking judicial independence and seriously damaging the rule of law, with no other purpose than to remain in La Moncloa for another day.

Those who should make us feel sorry are the victims of socialism, that is, the victims of the ruinous and absurd ideological recipes that Sánchez has been applying, and of his political measures to secure the favor of communists, separatists and heirs of ETA, measures that are eroding our democracy to alarming extremes:

  • I feel sorry for the more than 100,000 unborn children who are murdered annually in Spain, because of a socialist law that denies them the most basic of rights associated with their human condition, which is the right to life.
  • I feel sorry for ALS patients who have been waiting for a long time for the government to grant the aid provided for in the ALS Law, aid that never arrives because the government prefers that they resort to the aberrant euthanasia law that the socialists approved in 2020 to get rid of patients like them.
  • I feel sorry for the victims of ETA who are humiliated by a government that makes a pact with a party, Bildu, that refuses to condemn the 853 murders perpetrated by that terrorist organization, including the 22 murders of children and babies. A government that allows hundreds of tributes to terrorists so as not to lose Bildu's support.
  • I feel sorry for the many self-employed professionals and entrepreneurs who have had to close their businesses because of the tax plundering being carried out by the socialists, and also because of economic measures systematically aimed at penalizing the creation of wealth and jobs.
  • I feel sorry for the farmers and ranchers who suffer the abuses of this government, which is ruining the Spanish countryside not only because of the ruinous socialist economic recipes, but also because of a green fanaticism that seems designed to leave those Spaniards in ruin.
  • I feel sorry for the Spaniards who have been left without work because of socialist policies that scare away investors, destroy our business fabric, and push many Spaniards into unemployment, making Spain the country with the highest unemployment rate in Europe.
  • I feel sorry for the Spaniards who are afraid to go out on the street in case a criminal illegally occupies their homes (a scandalous practice that the Spanish left has been supporting and promoting for years), and those who suffer insecurity, robberies and assaults due, in large part, to illegal immigration insisted on by the government, which allows the permanence in Spain of many people about whom we know nothing and who do not have work nor are looking for it, including many who have already committed crimes and still have not been expelled from the country.
  • I feel sorry for the women who have suffered sexual assault to finally see how this government passed a law that reduces the sentences for the rapists who destroyed their lives, allowing many of them to go free.
  • I feel sorry for all the Spaniards who lead an honest life, work, and pay their taxes, only to see their money squandered by irresponsible politicians or, worse still, used by scoundrels to illegally enrich themselves. This is political corruption that Sánchez has clearly protected.
  • I feel sorry for the judges and journalists who do their duty by investigating the corruption cases that affect Pedro Sánchez's personal and political circle, and who have therefore had to endure a genuine campaign of harassment by the socialist mafia.
  • I feel sorry for our elders, who have been working hard all their lives to leave us a better Spain, and who now see how a government of unscrupulous politicians is dedicated to pitting Spaniards against each other and destroying the framework of coexistence that our parents and grandparents created with so much effort.
  • I feel sorry for the Spanish Jews, who are suffering the worst wave of anti-Semitism in decades, fueled largely by the government of Pedro Sánchez, which last year authorized a march by an anti-Semitic terrorist group that justified and supported the greatest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust. An infamous march attended by a minister from that government in a show of support.
  • I feel sorry for the Ukrainians, who see how Sánchez continues to buy gas from Russia for an amount much higher than that of Spanish military aid to Ukraine. A gas purchase with which Putin's dictatorship finances its war of aggression against the Ukrainian people.

The one I don't feel sorry for is Pedro Sánchez. He has spent seven years destroying our country and our democracy, lying, deceiving, putting his personal interests before the common good, and allying himself with the enemies of freedom, both within and outside our borders. Not only do I not feel sorry for Sánchez, but I also hope he ends up in prison for everything he's doing.
