Communists and nazis come to the rescue of the Iranian dictatorship, just as they did with Russia

As has happened before, communism and national socialism are once again joining forces to support the enemies of the West.

This morning, the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) described the US and Israeli attack against the Islamist dictatorship of Iran as an "imperialist aggression against Iran". "The US and Israel intend to impose their interests by force, striking at more and more peoples and territories," the far-left party stated. Let us remember that the PCE supported the invasion of Poland by nazi Germany and the USSR in 1939, a military aggression previously agreed upon by the dictatorships of Hitler and Stalin, and also justified the Soviet invasion of Finland in 1940, contemplated in the pact between nazi Germany and the USSR.

Also this morning, the Secretary General of the far-left Podemos party, one of the communist partners in Pedro Sánchez's government, stated: "First Palestine, then Venezuela, and now Iran. It's time to isolate Donald Trump internationally." Also from Podemos, the communist MEP Irene Montero has stated: "The US and Israel are the most dangerous criminals on the planet. How long will Europe remain silent, allowing these crimes? Spain must prevent the US from using our military bases and leave NATO now". Podemos refused to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine that began on February 24, 2024, and also refused to condemn Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, the worst anti-Semitic massacre since the Holocaust.

In their alignment with Iran, the aforementioned far-left parties have not been alone. The nazi party Núcleo Nacional (NN) commented on the attempt to overthrow the ayatollahs with an antisemitic message: "No more wars for Jewish interests. Iran, crush Zionism". We can get an idea of ​​what that party means by "crushing Zionism" by considering that at its National Nucleus headquarters it has a portrait of Adolf Hitler, the Nazi dictator who perpetrated the Holocaust, a genocide in which six million Jews were exterminated.

As enemies of freedom and democracy, communists and nazis once again find common ground in their attempt to weaken the West in the face of criminal regimes like Iran's. Totalitarianism is an immoral compass that always points in the wrong direction. It is no surprise that they are now coming to the rescue of a terrorist and anti-Semitic regime that has murdered tens of thousands of Persian citizens who demonstrated to demand freedom, a brutal repression that Sánchez's communist partners, Sumar and Podemos, refused to condemn a month and a half ago in the Congress of Deputies.

I want to reiterate that this alliance of communists and nazis already existed among the pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, as I pointed out here four years ago. Their anti-liberalism, their anti-Western sentiment, and also their anti-Semitism—increasingly strong on the far-left are making them almost indistinguishable in matters of international politics involving the interests of dictatorships like those of Russia and Iran.
