One advantage of coastal cities is that when a few days of intense heat arrive, we always have natural air conditioning nearby.
This Monday afternoon, a large bank of fog rolled into the Vigo Estuary. It typically begins at sea and moves inland. Eventually, after covering the estuary's waters, the fog began to rise toward the city, like a living creature that knows its path well. The following video was recorded at dusk from Mount O Castro, in the city center. At times, the sound of a foghorn can be heard. I am not sure exactly which one is audible here, because Vigo has a foghorn at Cabo Estay—on the outskirts of the city—but this one sounded very close by:
Here you can see a series of photos taken just tonight on Mount O Castro, amidst the fog—undoubtedly one of the ideal natural phenomena for photography. The red lights visible in the video and the final photo belong to the old antenna of the La Voz de Vigo radio station, which was owned by the Red de Emisoras del Movimiento. In 1981, the station was renamed Radiocadena Española Vigo, and in 1989, it was incorporated into Radio Nacional de España.
