On Tuesday, the Spanish Ministry of Defense announced that the aircraft carrier "Juan Carlos I" L-61, with 500 marines on board, and the amphibious assault ship "Galicia" L-51, had been sailing since Monday bound for Turkey, "to the area affected by the earthquake, in order to help in the rescue and rescue tasks". Both ships are part of the Dédalo 23 Aeronaval Amphibious Group deployed in January in the Mediterranean Sea for some exercises.

These Spanish Navy resources join the soldiers of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and civilian firefighters from Madrid sent on Monday, as well as the soldiers of the Spanish Army deployed in the Incirlik Air Base, in the affected area, in Operation Support for Turkey, an operation that began in 2014 with which Spain deployed a battery of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles in that country against the threat of ISIS. You can see below some images of this deployment in aid of Turkey published by the Defense General Staff, the Spanish Navy and the Military Emergency Unit.
