Today the Chilean Navy has published an exciting video of the encounter between the Spanish Navy's training ship and its twin, the Chilean training ship "Esmeralda", in Punta Arenas Bay, a beautiful image that you can see at the top of this post. As is traditional in the naval field, both ships have fired artillery salutes from their salute batteries (the "Elcano" battery is made up of two 37 mm Bazán RB cannons, while the "Esmeralda" has 4 57 mm cannons). In addition, from land, a battery of the Third Naval Zone of Chile has also launched salutes in response to those of the Spanish ship:

In addition, yesterday the Chilean Navy's YouTube channel published this video of Rear Admiral Ronald Baasch, Commander-in-Chief of the Third Naval Zone, announcing the joint commemorative events for the fifth centenary of the Magellan and Elcano expedition, the first circumnavigation of the world. The events will begin this Wednesday, October 21, at the Muelle Prat in Punta Arenas. Regrettably, due to the current health situation, the crews of the "Elcano" and the "Esmeralda" will not be able to go ashore, nor will the authorities be able to board:
