An extreme left Spanish journalist openly justifies Hamas's crimes

The far left's campaign of hatred and demonization against Israel is now entering the realm of glorifying terrorism.

In the last few hours, Raúl Solís, journalist for the far-left outlet Diario Red (founded by Pablo Iglesas Turrión, one of the founders of the far-left party Podemos), has published a series of messages on Twitter that are receiving a lot of criticism.

That series of messages began yesterday at 10:15 p.m. CET with a response from Solís to Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid (an automated copy can be seen here). In it, the Diario Red journalist states: "Hamas is the right to defense of a people occupied and exterminated by a terrorist state."

Let us remember that Hamas is on the European Union's list of terrorist organizations. Moreover, Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in 2006. Israel had withdrawn from Gaza in 2005 and there was no longer a single Jewish inhabitant of the territory.

At 10:27 PM CET, another Twitter user responded to Solís's message stating: "And Shani Louk attacked them from Germany. Justify this, Raúl." This message included two photos of German citizen Shani Louk, one of the victims of the massacre at the Reim music festival in the Negev desert. One of the photos shows the moment of her kidnapping by Hamas terrorists. Shani Louk was kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered by a Hamas terrorist.

At 10:30 PM CET, Solís wrote this response (an automated copy can be seen here) that has generated an avalanche of criticism: "Yes, any violent action in the face of an occupation by a terrorist state is justified." Let's remember that he was responding to the specific case of an unarmed young who was kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered by Hamas. To call Solís's message nauseating would be a gross understatement.

This Saturday, in response to the criticism by the Jewish association Action and Communication on the Middle East (ACOM) of the message from the Diario Red journalist justifying Hamas' crimes, at 12:44 CET today Solís insisted (see automatic copy): "It is an honor that this Nazi-Zionist lobby points me out. And yes, I reaffirm: Hamas is the right to legitimate defense of a people occupied and exterminated by a terrorist state like Israel."

Finally, this afternoon, Javier Rubio Donzé, founder of Academia Play, asked Solís about his message referring to the case of Shani Louk: "Would you be able to justify it to his mother? Answer".

Raúl Solís' response (see automatic copy) arrived at 5:17 p.m. CET and is an example of the extremes to which the fanaticism of the Diario Red journalist reaches: "Of course. I would tell him that Israel is to blame for his daughter's death, which since 1948 has been carrying out ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people. If Israel had abandoned the genocide, his daughter would be alive today. Do you want more?"

Again, justifying crimes with lies. The so-called "Palestinians" are those who in 1948 were classified as "Arabs" of Palestine. Currently, two million Arabs live in Israel and are full citizens of that country. It is the strangest "ethnic cleansing" in history.

The Spanish Penal Code criminalizes the justification and glorification of terrorism in its Article 578, the first two points of which state:

1. The public glorification or justification of the crimes included in articles 572 to 577 or of those who have participated in their execution, or the performance of acts that entail discredit, contempt or humiliation of the victims of terrorist crimes or their families, shall be punished with imprisonment of one to three years and a fine of twelve to eighteen months. The judge may also order in the sentence, for the period of time that he himself specifies, one or more of the prohibitions provided for in article 57.

2. The penalties provided for in the previous section shall be imposed in their upper half when the acts have been carried out through the dissemination of services or content accessible to the public through the media, the internet, or through electronic communications services or through the use of information technologies.

This is a very clear case of the justification of terrorism, and specifically of atrocious terrorist crimes that included kidnappings, rapes, torture and murders against unarmed civilians, including children and babies. Entire families were killed in their homes by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, in the worst massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

I hope these heinous messages are brought to justice and that the full weight of the law falls on this madman. In a democratic society, there is no place for messages that justify terrorist crimes, especially when we are talking about crimes as monstrous as those perpetrated by Hamas.
