Sánchez's government is not fighting terrorism: it's doing it favors

The impunity of the GKS, yet another effect of the moral disarmament of Spain by socialism

ETA was not defeated: the PSOE prevented it with a perverse pact with the terrorists
The favors to ETA for which Pedro Sánchez does not want anyone to talk about those terrorists

The PSOE prevented ETA from being defeated by the rule of law.

As I pointed out here a few months ago, ETA stopped killing, not because it was defeated, but because the PSOE offered it impunity in exchange for the support of its political wing. They have been trying to disguise this infamy for years, but that wasn't a defeat for ETA: that was bending democracy to its will to favor the terrorists, in order to obtain additional support for the left. As a consequence, today we have ETA's political wing sitting in the institutions and acting as a partner of Sánchez's government, a scandalous situation that doesn't occur in any other country in the European Union.

ETA violence has not stopped in the Basque provinces and Navarre

In that article, I also warned that this criminal gang continues to use violence in the Basque provinces and Navarre to impede the normal development of democratic life, something that members of the People's Party (PP), Vox, and the Navarrese People's Union (UPN) in those Spanish regions can attest to. This violence benefits the left because it prevents its rivals from leading normal lives, which is why no member of the government has condemned the attacks by these thugs since Sánchez came to power.

Now we are told that the violence of ETA sympathizers has reappeared, as if that were something new, as if in recent years the parties that oppose Basque separatism had led a peaceful existence in the aforementioned regions. Last weekend, a Basque far-left group called Gazte Koordinadora Sozialista (GKS) attacked the bust of Manuel Fraga, founder of the PP, in Villalba (Lugo). Some media outlets are now trying to define what GKS is and how it differs from Bildu, but in reality, they are the same garbage: GKS and Bildu do not condemn ETA terrorism and justify violence for political ends. Simply put, GKS is a group that plays the "bad guy" so that the rest of ETA's political wing doesn't appear to be the bad guy.

The favors of Pedro Sánchez's government to terrorism

In any democratic country, a terrorist group like the GKS (and I call it that because one way to confront thugs is to start by calling them by their name) could be dismantled in a matter of days if there were the political will to do so. Spain has excellent intelligence services and security forces with extensive experience in counterterrorism. If that doesn't happen, it's because socialism has spent years morally disarming Spain in the face of terrorists, and not just those of ETA.

Let us remember that two years ago the Sánchez government authorized a march called by a Palestinian terrorist group that has been on the lists of terrorist organizations of the European Union, the United States and Canada for years. Likewise, Pedro Sánchez has whitewashed Hamas terrorists with his campaign to demonize Israel, which has gone so far as to blame the Jewish state for the war started by the terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas on October 7, 2023, the worst antisemitic massacre since the Holocaust.

Let us not forget, moreover, that Sánchez granted amnesty to the CDR terrorists as payment for the support of Catalan separatism for his re-election, a scandalous act of political corruption that consists of suspending the application of the Penal Code to the government's allies in exchange for their political favors.

A government that does not fight terrorists, but makes deals with them

The most recent initiative by the Sánchez government regarding terrorism has been to make a deal with Bildu to remove ETA from the European Union's list of terrorist organizations, a direct betrayal of the victims of that criminal group. Under these circumstances, with a government of socialists and communists who feel more comfortable making deals with ETA's political wing than with the democratic right, how can we expect Sánchez to confront a new outbreak of terrorism? In any case, he will make a pact with it, just as he did with Bildu, a pact with which the socialist leader broke his word that he would not make a pact with that party, demonstrating that his word is worth absolutely nothing and that his main concern is to remain in power at any cost, even by making pacts with totalitarians who justify violence as a means to achieve their perverse political objectives.
