Putin embraces Stalin's propaganda lies about that war

The Kremlin is trying to rewrite the history of the start of World War II to whitewash communism

The Second World War began on September 1, 1939, with the German invasion of Poland.

Putin wants Poland to thank the dictator Stalin, who invaded it in 1939

Today there is clear evidence that Nazi Germany and the USSR agreed to this invasion, including it in a secret protocol of the Molotov-Ribbentrop PactGermany and the USSR also remained in contact to develop the invasion, which began on the Soviet side on September 17. Hitler and Stalin had previously agreed to divide Poland, and that is what they did. On September 22, Germans and Soviets met in the Polish town of Brześć Litewski (now Brest-Litovsk, in Belarus), and both armies even held a joint military parade to celebrate their victory over the Poles.

These historical facts demonstrate that the USSR was as responsible as Nazi Germany for the outbreak of World War II. Stalin did not stop in Poland; the Red Army invaded Finland on November 30, 1939, and the Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) and the Romanian regions of Bessarabia and northern Bukovina in 1940. All of this was previously agreed upon with Nazi Germany, and that is why the communist parties under Moscow's orders openly justified the invasion of Poland, demonizing the British and French for supporting the Poles.

Historical reality has become very uncomfortable for Vladimir Putin's dictatorship, simply because it has spent years accepting Stalin's propaganda lies about the start of that war. Today, the Kremlin has once again attempted to rewrite history. It did so through a message published by the Russian embassy in Germany, which states: "Statements equating National Socialism with Communism are unacceptable and blasphemous. Equally unacceptable are attempts to blame both Germany and the USSR for the outbreak of the war."

It is curious to observe that the Kremlin ascribes a sacred character to communism, accusing of "blasphemy" those who equate this totalitarian ideology with National Socialism. As I explained here two years ago, national-socialism and communism are of course comparable, since they are two anti-democratic ideologies that have exercised power through dictatorships and by murdering millions of people. Nazism is just as criminal as Communism, and stating this is simply drawing a conclusion based on historical facts.

To conclude, if World War II began with an invasion agreed upon and planned jointly by Nazi Germany and the USSR, as became clear when the secret protocol document of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was discovered in 1945 by the Western Allies, despite which the USSR continued to deny it for 44 years. a href="https://archive.ph/AZSCp" target="_blank">In August 1989, the USSR finally published the secret protocol it had denied for decades. Today, Putin is once again denying what has been documented for 81 years, demonstrating that lying has become the standard approach of the Russian dictatorship to any issue.
