These Ukrainian girls have died in the Russian siege of the city of Mariupol

A pained farewell to Yelyzaveta and Sonia, two little actresses from 'The Chronicles of Narnia'

This morning the news of the death of these two girls, named Yelyzaveta and Sonia, during the Russian siege of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, was known.

Petro Andriushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, has published the news on his Telegram channel: "War takes the best. Two girls, two charming little actresses Yelyzaveta and Sonia died in Mariupol." Andriushchenko has pointed out that both played the role of little Lucy in stagings of the play "The Chronicles of Narnia. The Lion, the Witch, the Wardrobe", in the Mariupol Theater, destroyed in March by a Russian attack.

Andriushchenko has recalled the parallelism between the children who took refuge in the London Underground, during the Nazi bombing of Great Britain that appears in that work, and the situation experienced by Ukrainian children in Mariupol. Some have been in underground shelters for almost two months, hiding from the savage Russian attacks on the Ukrainian civilian population.

My condolences and my hug to the family of Yelyzaveta and Sonia, and my prayers for the two girls. Hopefully Vladimir Putin and his henchmen end up being held accountable in court for the crimes they are committing in Ukraine.

Хай спочивають з миром. Rest in peace.
