A scene released by the 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army

A drone introduces a mortar shell through the sunroof of a Russian military vehicle

So far in Ukraine, Ukrainian drones have been seen guiding artillery fire, launching missiles and even chasing a Russian soldier.

The Ukrainian attack on a column of Russian tanks, driving it back

The 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army published a video today that shows a new modality in the use of these unmanned devices: the launch of mortar shells. According to Funker, the drone would be a DJI Mavic 3, a small device for civilian use that is used for reconnaissance and guidance of artillery in military missions, but that would have been modified to be able to launch mortar projectiles (and several, because in the video you see at least two launches, unless they were done with two drones).

The particularity of the video is not only that the Ukrainians have modified a drone to launch mortar shells, but also that the launched projectile entered right through the open sunroof of the vehicle used by the Russian soldiers, exploding inside. The scene is still terrible (remember that this is a war, not a video game), and at the same time surreal:
