An attack by the Ukrainian 54th Mechanized Brigade in Donetsk Oblast

The Ukrainian attack on a column of Russian tanks, driving it back

On March 25, Russia announced that it would concentrate its offensive on the Donbas, and the influx of Russian forces appears to be increasing there.

In its report today, British Defense Intelligence has pointed out: "Russian shelling has continued in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, with Ukrainian forces repulsing several assaults resulting in the destruction of Russian tanks, vehicles, and artillery equipment."

Precisely, this Monday the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda has released a video of these combats recorded by the K2 Combat Reconnaissance Group of the 54th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army, which is based in Bakhmut, in the Donetsk oblast, in the northern part from the Dombas region. This is one of the areas where the hardest fighting of this war is taking place.

The video shows a column of Russian tanks advancing along a road, when a Ukrainian artillery attack begins (the aforementioned Brigade has an Artillery Group equipped with 2S1 Gvozdika and 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers and BM-21 Grad multiple missile launchers). The attack is devastating, and towards the middle of the video the Russian tanks are seen turning back, while continuing to receive fire from the Ukrainian artillery, quite accurately (probably thanks to the use of drones).

At the end of the video, a charred Russian tank is seen in the foreground, and other Russian vehicles also destroyed in the background (the first one looks like a BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle).

In the description of the video, Ukrayinska Pravda claims that two Russian tanks were destroyed and several more were set on fire. The video does not indicate the date it was recorded. If recent, images such as these indicate that areas apparently occupied by the Russians are not secured by the invading forces, which continue to be heavily harassed by Ukrainian forces.
