The Spanish Air Force publishes an interesting report that shows us its work

The hydraulic team that maintains the C-101 Aviojet airplanes of the Patrulla Águila

A good aerobatic squadron is not just about having good planes and pilots: it requires a support team behind it.

The work of the important support team of the Patrulla Águila of the Spanish Air Force
The details that we can see in a CASA C-101 Aviojet airplane seen from very close up

In November we already saw here the work of the support staff of the Patrulla Águila (Eeagle Patrol), the acrobatic team of the Spanish Air Force, in an interesting video published by the channel Fly By Wire Aviation. Now we have the opportunity to see a very specific and important part of that maintenance work. The Spanish Air Force has published today an excellent report on the hydraulic team of the Patrulla Águila, showing us what work they do to keep these already veteran Spanish aircraft in good condition:

The video is of very good quality. Its protagonists are the members of the aforementioned hydraulics team, whom we can see below these lines. Their maintenance work is of great importance in these airplanes, since the hydraulic systems are essential for the proper functioning of the landing gear, airbrakes, flaps and brakes. Here we can see a test of folding and unfolding the landing gear of one of the C-101 Aviojet of the Patrulla Águila.

Here we see a test of deployment of the airbrake of one of the "culopollos", as these aircraft are popularly known in the Spanish Air Force. The airbrake is located in the ventral section of the aircraft, between the wings, and deploys up to an angle of 45º.

Below, a flap deployment test. As a curiosity, the orange symbol that looks like a "2" and another symbol in the shape of an inverted "V" indicates a point to attach a hitch when the plane has to be raised with slings. To attach it you have to remove that panel located behind the wing.

Congratulations to the Spanish Air Force for this video, it is a pleasure to see a production so well done.
