The murder of Antonio Ramírez Gallardo and Hortensia González Ruiz in 1979

'27 Minutes', an excellent short film about one of the crimes committed by ETA terrorists

ETA murdered hundreds of people for decades, including children. To do this, the assassins imposed a dictatorship of terror in a part of Spain.

This dictatorship was founded on the fear of the population and also on the complicity of one part, the one closest to the separatist and ultra-left ideology of that terrorist group. That fear and that complicity were terribly intertwined in some of the attacks perpetrated by ETA. Ladaliafilms has released a short film entitled "27 Minutes" about one of those crimes. The documentary lasts less than 8 minutes. Its title refers to a fact that today must be remembered with shame:

The short film is dedicated to Antonio Ramírez Gallardo and Hortensia González Ruiz, an engaged couple. He was 24 years old and was a civil guard. She was 20 years old and a student. It was not long before they got married when on January 6, 1979, in the midst of the Three Kings' festival, they were riddled with bullets by two ETA terrorists in the town of Beasain (Guipúzcoa). Hortensia was the first woman murdered by ETA for having a relationship with a civil guard. The terrorists attacked her: he was shot 8 times, she 10.

When this crime was committed, Antonio's body was resting on the horn of his car and it honked for 27 minutes without any neighbor coming to the scene. Finally, his bodies were taken to the San Miguel de Beasain clinic by three young people who were passing by and who had knowledge of first aid. Today, Pedro Sánchez governs with the support of a party, EH Bildu, which continues to refuse to condemn ETA's crimes, including the murder of Antonio and Hortensia.

Never forget.
