A spectacular report of Aventuras Entresierras with movie locations

The Spanish tunnel, now in ruins, made famous by an Indiana Jones movie

Spain is a country with spectacular locations, and for this reason it has been the setting chosen for the filming of many films.

One of the Spanish provinces most closely linked to the world of cinema is Almería, whose landscapes are ideal for filming Western films, but also other genres. Precisely, this Wednesday the always interesting YouTube channel of Aventuras Entresierras (which always I advise you to subscribe, as it has excellent content) has published a video exploring ruins in the province of Almería, including two related to very famous films.

The first is "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (1966), the most famous title of the so-called Spaghetti Western, which had among its locations the Cortijo del Fraile, an old establishment of the Dominican friars built in the 18th century and which was a victim of the confiscations of the 19th century. It is located in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park.

The second film is "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989), the third installment in the saga of the famous archaeologist and explorer played by Harrison Ford. One of his most spectacular scenes was filmed in a Spanish tunnel located in a mining area of Almería, a tunnel that we can see in the video and that became world famous thanks to that film.

Finally, the video includes a visit to the Denver de Rodalquilar plant, a mining complex that emerged after the discovery of a gold deposit in that town in the 1880s.

You can see here some captures of the video. We start with el Cortijo del Fraile. The video includes some spectacular aerial shots of this place, recorded with a drone.

The mining area where the tunnel that gives this entry its title is located. The appearance of this place is already out of a movie.

The famous tunnel from the third Indiana Jones movie. It will be hard for you to recognize it because it is in ruins, but in the video you will be able to see in which scene of the film it appeared.

Rodalquilar's Denver plant. The buildings are huge.
