A spooky video showing the abandoned parts of this mining city

This is a winter night under a snowfall in Vorkuta, the coldest city in Europe

When we watch a video on YouTube, we can be fascinated by the quality of the images, but sometimes we don't ask ourselves a question.

The icy abandoned streets of Vorkuta, the coldest and easternmost city in Europe
The Road of the Bones: a mass grave of the stalinist genocide of 2,000 km long

That question is the following: what did that person have to do to record these images? This question becomes inevitable watching the second part of Ninurta's exploration of Vorkuta, in Russia, the coldest and easternmost city in Europe. On June 7th we saw the first part here, which was already impressive. In this new video, its author got into the middle of a heavy snowfall and in the middle of the night in a place that has a record minimum temperature of −52ºC. The youtuber could have suffered from frostbite... As I already said on Tuesday about a video of Stepanets, it does not seem like a prudent way to act:

You can see here some captures of the video. Here we see an abandoned building, at night and in the middle of a snowfall.

A scientific station called Vega, currently abandoned.

A somewhat macabre joke. A doll sitting in an abandoned building.

An abandoned factory. As we saw in the previous entry, Vorkuta was an important mining center.

Old Russian military trucks, apparently abandoned (as old as a lot of Russian military equipment is, it's hard to tell if something is abandoned or still active).

A statue of communist dictator Lenin in the middle of some abandoned apartment blocks.
