A new snub to two countries, the US and Israel, which will have consequences

Sanchez bans ships in Spain at the request of a party linked to a terrorist group

The socialist government of Pedro Sánchez is pursuing a foreign policy in Spain that is now barely distinguishable from that of Putin's allies.

Two ships travelling between friendly countries are banned due to suspicion

This week we have had a new example of this foreign policy: The Sánchez government has vetoed the stopover in Spain of two Maersk container ships, coming from the United States and bound for Israel, on the mere suspicion that they were transporting weapons for the Israel Defense Forces, a democratic country that is fighting alone against the terrorist regime of Iran and its terrorist puppets in Gaza (Hamas), Lebanon (Hezbollah) and Yemen (Houthis).

A suspicion launched by the Communist Party of Spain (PCE)

The most astonishing thing is not the fact of vetoing two ships from an allied country heading to a democratic country based on mere suspicion, but the suspicion that led the government to take this unusual decision. The complaint about these ships was issued by Enrique Santiago, a deputy for the far-left Sumar party and secretary general of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE), a party that defends a totalitarian ideology and of which two ministers of the Sánchez government are members: the second vice president and Minister of Labor Yolanda Díaz and the Minister of Children and Youth Sira Rego.

We are not talking about just another party in Spain, but about Sánchez's government partners. But there is one more detail that allows us to understand to what extent Sánchez is allowing his international policy to be dictated by fanatics and extremists who should not be in the government of any democratic country, and who do so in Spain because the Spanish socialists have no qualms about allying themselves with the worst of the left in order to come to power and stay in it.

The PCE is brotherly with the Palestinian terrorists of the PFLP

As I explained here last year, the PCE is a party sister to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a far-left criminal group that is classified as a terrorist organization by the European Union, the United States and Canada for many years for committing murders against Israeli Jews. The twinning between the PCE and the PFLP is not something I made up: the PCE magazine, "Mundo Obrero", openly acknowledged it in June 2023, on the occasion of a trip by one of its leaders to Lebanon, stating that this trip "served to strengthen the ties between the PCE and sister organizations such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Lebanese Communist Party (PCL)."

PFLP supported Hamas' antisemitic massacre of Israeli civilians

Last year, the PFLP called for support for Hamas's terrorist attack against Israel, the largest antisemitic massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust, which saw more than 1,200 people killed, as well as torture and rape of unarmed civilians, including children and babies. Shortly after the horrendous attack, and according to the newspaper La Razón, Enrique Santiago refused to call Hamas a "terrorist", an adjective he has used against the Catholic Church and businessmen.

A minister of Sánchez supported a march called by the PFLP

Let us remember that in January 2024, the Sánchez government authorized a march called by PFLP terrorists in Madrid, becoming the first government in the European Union to authorize a public demonstration officially organized by a criminal group classified as such by the EU. As if that were not enough, the communist minister Sira Rego attended that march to show her support.

Sanchez is breaking Spain's ties with the US and Israel

With these decisions and with these allies, Pedro Sánchez is sending the message to the US that the Spanish government is not a reliable partner, the message that this government has no qualms about aligning itself with friends of terrorists and against a democratic country like Israel, which is defending itself from terrorist attacks. This message will end up having very negative consequences for Spain, and even more so with the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House.

Significantly, Morocco, which is an Arab and Muslim country, has accepted the stopover of those two ships vetoed by the Sánchez government, which at this rate will end up getting the US to decide to abandon the Rota Naval Base, headquarters of the current NATO anti-missile shield, and move its ships to Morocco. Afterwards, some pro-Russian and antisemitic fools will come saying that the US and Israel are enemies of Spain, forgetting the obstacles, insults and snubs that the Sánchez government has been making against those two friendly countries, offenses that Sánchez makes speaking on behalf of Spain. One day we will know what interests are behind Sánchez's repeated attempts to break our ties of friendship with those two countries.
