Pedro Sánchez's vice president has not condemned this terrorist attack

The links of Yolanda Díaz's party with a terrorist group that supports Hamas

These days there is a great controversy in Spain over the refusal of the far-left to condemn the terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel.

Vox cries out against Yolanda Díaz and Sumar: “They are justifying the murder of civilians”
The promoters of hatred against the Jews that Sánchez brought into the Spanish government

These messages range from a false equidistance to the direct justification of the terrorist attack. Yesterday Vox party pointed out Vice President Yolanda Díaz and her party, Sumar, denouncing that "they are justifying the murder of civilians." But the attitude of the extreme Spanish left goes beyond mere rhetoric and includes links with a terrorist group that supports the Hamas attack against Israel. Links that are systematically ignored or omitted by the majority of the Spanish media, despite to be public and notorious.

The terrorist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)

This terrorist group is the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a criminal gang of Marxist-Leninist ideology that has been carrying out numerous murders against Israeli Jews, including the murder of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Zeevion October 17, 2001, the suicide bombing of a pizzeria in Karnei Shomron in the West Bank, on February 16, 2002, killing three Israelis, andthe bombing of a synagogue in West Jerusalem on November 18, 2014with four Israelis killed.

The PFLP has been listed for years in the registers of terrorist organizations in the European Union, United States and Canada. Its classification as a terrorist organization by the European Union was reiterated on February 24, 2023 in EU Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/422. Openly despising its status as a terrorist group, several Spanish parties with a parliamentary presence have ties to the PFLP, among them the party in which Vice President Yolanda Díaz is a member, the Communist Party of Spain (PCE).

The militancy of Yolanda Díaz in the Communist Party of Spain (PCE)

Although her electoral brand in the last elections was Sumar, Yolanda Díaz maintains her militancy in the PCE, a militancy that she has maintained even after abandon Izquierda Unida, the electoral brand created by the PCE in 1986. In March of this year, from the tribune of Congress, Díaz vindicated the "work of the PCE". The vice president is not a mere grassroots member: in April she participated in a public event of the PCE, being one of the speakers.

A PCE leader met with the PFLP in June in Lebanon

On June 5 of this year, the official magazine of the PCE, "Mundo Obrero", published information about a trip by the head of the International Relations Secretariat of the PCE and MEP of Izquierda Unida, Manu Pineda, to Lebanon. The news from said magazine bluntly reported a meeting between Pineda and a leader of that terrorist group:

"The trip to Lebanon also served to reinforce ties between the PCE and sister organizations such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Lebanese Communist Party (PCL).

In the meeting with the PFLP, Manu Pineda was able to analyze, together with his counterpart, the head of international relations, Maher Al-Taher, the international and regional geopolitical context. The meeting also served to "renew the commitment of the PCE to end the occupation of Palestine and guarantee the right of return of Palestinian refugees as recognized by United Nations resolution 194/48."

The PCE magazine's praise for the PFLP in December 2022

In December 2022, "Mundo Obrero" dedicated a news item to the 55th anniversary of the PFLP, openly praising that terrorist group, of which it stated that "the PFLP established, from a social point of view, to lead a revolution with all oppressed Palestinians: peasants, youth, women, workers,", saying that the PFLP "participated from the beginning in the Popular Armed Resistance", an euphemism to refer to its terrorist activity, based on committing murders and kidnappings.

The euphemisms to refer to this criminal activity are repeated when "Mundo Obrero" states that the FPLP "took resistance in all its forms as its flag, which included the armed strugglefor defense of its sovereignty and the liberation of the country." An "armed struggle" that includes the murder of unarmed civilians in attacks such as those mentioned.

The public event of the PCE with a leader of the PFLP in 2017

Likewise, on November 1, 2017, "Mundo Obrero" reported on a public event of the PCE in which a leader of the PFLP, Layla Khaled participated , famous for her participation in the kidnapping of a plane of the American airline TWA in 1969 in Rome, carrying hand grenades. "Ms. Khaled sits on the PFLP Central Committee and has not expressed regret for her involvement in terrorism", noted Ynetnews.com in June 2011.

The PFLP has called for support for the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel

Clear proof that the PFLP maintains its terrorist activity is the statement published by that criminal organization last Saturday in its official website, in which it supports the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel and calls on the Palestinians to support it, in the following terms:

"The Popular Front called on our heroic people throughout Palestine to actively participate in the battle of the “Al-Aqsa Flood”. Both from its location and from the tools it possesses, to attack the enemy army and its settlers, cut off its supply routes, sabotage its vital installations and pursue the terrified Zionist invaders in the face of attacks by the resistance and its attack agent at every turn. centimeter of the land of Palestine."

The statement makes a "call on all those who carry weapons" to participate in this terrorist attack. On Sunday, the PFLP published a note on its website justifying the terrorist attack of Hamas against Israel, calling it a "response to the occupation's crimes against occupied Jerusalem", stating that the attacking group "was able to eliminate hundreds of settlers and soldiers, in addition to capturing dozens of soldiers and settlers", in a repugnant reference to the murdered and kidnapped civilians, including children and babies.

Some links that explain Díaz's refusal to condemn this terrorist attack

It is especially serious and alarming that a vice president of the government of Spain belongs to a party that has links to a terrorist group that, in addition, openly supports the criminal attack launched on Saturday by Hamas against Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of civilians murdered, numerous injured and also dozens of people kidnapped and women raped.

These links explain Yolanda Díaz's refusal to condemn this terrorist attack and reveal the unsustainable position of Pedro Sánchez's government, which is not only the only government with communist ministers in the European Union, but also the only one that has in its cabinet a person who is active in a party that calls a terrorist group a "sister organization." Either Yolanda Díaz immediately leaves the PCE, or Sánchez must dismiss Díaz. A democratic country cannot have someone like that in its government.

The links of other Spanish far-left parties with the FPLP

It must be said that the PCE is not the only Spanish far-left party that has links to that terrorist group. As we saw here in July, the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG) has been maintaining ties with the PFLP for years, even publicly inviting that organization to its rallies. This fact led the Jewish organization ACOM to present a complaint against the BNG before the Prosecutor's Office for glorifying terrorism in 2021.

In Catalonia, leaders of the separatist organization Candidatura d'Unitat Popular (CUP), which like the BNG has a communist ideology, they also had contact with Layla Khaled in 2017, going to receive that PFLP leader at the airport in Barcelonaand inviting her to give a talk in the Catalan Parliament.
