Every November 18, Latvians celebrate the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the anniversary of its independence in 1918.
For this reason, the Latvian Armed Forces are organizing a military parade in Riga, the capital of the country, in which they have the opportunity to show off their small but powerful and highly motivated Army. The Spanish Army has been participating in these parades for years, being deployed at the Ādaži military base within the framework of the NATO eFP mission. You can watch the full video of this year's parade broadcast on Latvian Television here (the Spaniards appear at point 32:23, in the foot parade, and at point 1:04:11, in the vehicle parade):
In addition to foot soldiers, the Spanish Army participated in the parade with two Leopard 2E tanks and one ASCOD Pizarro infantry fighting vehicle, which paraded in Riga preceded by our Italian allies (with Ariete tanks) and followed by our Polish allies (with PT-91 Twardy tanks). You can see here some images of the Spanish participation in this parade that have been published by the Latvian Army (photos by Ēriks Kukutis) and the Spanish Defence Staff, as well as some screenshots from the Latvian Television video (click on the photos to enlarge them).
