This Thursday, the Spanish Army is in mourning following the death of one of its members at the "Cerro Muriano" base in Córdoba.
The deceased is 23-year-old soldier. He was stationed with the Signals Company of the Headquarters Battalion of the "Guzmán el Bueno" X Brigade. The Spanish Army has stated that he died in a traffic accident within the aforementioned base in Córdoba.
The soldier joined the Armed Forces in 2025. According to the newspaper El Día de Córdoba, a truck was involved in the incident. The Civil Guard arrived at the base early this Thursday after being notified of the accident. At present, the causes of this tragic event are under investigation.
My condolences to the family and comrades of the fallen soldier. Grant him, O Lord, eternal rest. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
P.S.: The Spanish Army deleted the initial post announcing the death of this soldier—a post that included his photograph. I do not know the reasons behind this decision, but I assume there is a valid one. For this reason, I have decided not to include his photograph in this article.
UPDATED 23:02: At the request of the deceased soldier’s family, his name has been removed from this article.
